So to put the final nail in 76's coffin, players have already figured out how to exploit, power level, mod, and cheat their way through the game. One of the most common complaints logged in the Bethesda forums is that players can't one-shot kill other players...which tells me the largest market for this game is the troll market.
Yeah...
That said, the fact the game is so easily moddable, despite being an online game, means it's possible to mod it into something more playable especially if Bethesda does ever implement private servers.

I was never really keen on online gaming. Just because people are relatively anonymous, they think it gives them the right to be jerks. I have always preferred single player games. Err, except when it comes to PBP games of course.

Well, Fallout 76 just fell off my radar. I still wanted to give it a try, but not with a day 1 50gig patch. That's just too big a bite out of my data cap. Not worth it.
Hoping Fallout Miami makes it to the PS4 though.

I just picked up spray and pray's older brother. A legendary assault gun with the incendiary property. Thank you legendary raider for not noticing my sneak attack until it was way too late!

Um...I dunno. I don't remember Incendiary being all that hot, and there are way more defenses to it than Explosive, which apparently doesn't have any kind of defense. If it does, I don't remember encountering anything that could survive against it.
Granted, I was demo build so Spray'n'Pray for me was godly. Could literally fend off entire towns for hours because I killed them so quickly with that thing.

Yeah I meant explosive, not incendiary. I have essentially broken the barter system at this point. With purified water of all things. Requires a bit of time, resources and settlements near water, but the big industrial water purifiers are the way to go. You're going to want at least three of them to be viable. When I have collected the water from the workshops, I can clear out Diamond city market of junk and ammo. Only annoying thing is I have to use the power armour leg mods to carry the water, since it will hit the hundreds for carry weight.

Never really bothered with the markets. Seemed like I was always maxed out for caps with plain ol' loot selling, and there was rarely anything worth buying anyway. Scant few rare weapons are really worth it.

Oh I rarely buy weapons. Most of my current ones were drops. I did just buy the double shot rifle from vault 81 to act as my workhorse against regular enemies.

I never really got the Double Shot to work. Seems like it should be powerful, but not so much. That one crazy laser gun that could be modded into so many other types of guns proved to be way more powerful for regular enemies, it just fired so quickly, and I didn't have any kind of laser perks.
I also never go the First Shot trait to work. Seems like the damage bonus would work great with sniper and ambush weapons, it does all its damage on the first bullet in the chamber or something like that, but it actually didn't do much. Stuck it on this one legendary shotgun I had with amazing damage properties but was slow to fire and reload. Figured it wouldn't matter if nobody could survive that first shot especially from an ambush. Didn't quite work that way. A riot shotgun I got later proved to be way more damaging. And not just from firing speed, but in individual shot damage too. Yeah, not quite sure what was going on there.

Yeouch. First two patches for Fallout 76 are 50gigs each. Apparently the actual game disc only contains like 360megs of data. It's probably a CD. So you need to download the game, then the day 1 patch, then the recent patch. That's more than my entire data cap! I can't even try the game even if I wanted to.

The guy working on New California says all of their co-writers bailed on him and he was pretty much forced to finish the main quest all by himself. It's a ton of work, but he claims he can do it himself.
However, this says nothing of the various spice filler quests for the rest of the Wasteland and he's asking for help in that area.
I find the offer intriguing, but I'm not sure if he's asking specifically for writers, which is fine by me, or modders, which I've never done.

Did you know there was a Fallout game for the PS2? Now it supposedly sucks, BUT it uses the Snowblind engine which was the core of Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath, the two best hack'n'slash dungeon crawlers in my opinion. It can't be that bad.

That's Brotherhood of Steel, probably the worst Fallout ever. Trust me on this, you didn't miss much. Actually Interplay had two titles for Fallout they could have developed. BosS and Van Buren. From what I've heard of Van Buren, if Interplay had developed that, they might have had a hit on their hands. Instead BoS was a critical and commercial disaster, and they lost the rights to Bethesda.

You know those nylon bags? Apparently it was too expensive to make canvas bags for their fans even though the ad specifically stated that's what they would be...
...but they still gave away actual canvas bags with all the goodies promised in the special edition to various critics and YouTubers at an all expense paid press event. This is total EA level crap.
Oh, and the "no refunds" thing with a note on their website that specifically states "be careful when buying from the Bethesda store".

Actually, companies aren't required to give refunds. But the bag thing most definitely isn't. You can't advertise a kit will include one thing, and then not include it because it was too expensive to make.

It's two separate situations. On their website, Bethesda says they give no refunds for 76 and as part of their official policy users of the Bethesda store must "be careful", which is ridiculous because you can't be careful using a digital retailer. In the case of 76, they didn't falsely advertise, so no luck there. It's them covering their ass so they retain as much sales as possible.
The collector's edition is a different story. It specifically states in the ad that the kit includes a canvas bag. When someone contacted them asking why they switched to nylon, the guy told them it was because canvas was too expensive. But they still had these canvas bags available for "influential" media personalities, as stated in their press briefing. Bethesda's official response stated they're going after the guy who leaked this info. So, yeah, in this case, total false advertising.
Someone has filed a class action lawsuit against them.

Well, turns out Bethesda finally crossed the line: their buggy system allowed regular ol' members to receive all the personal and financial information of thousands of people, thus compromising their security and breaking all sorts of major privacy laws. In all likelihood, Bethesda is about to get slapped with hundreds of millions of dollars worth of fines. And they're a private company, so this is gonna come directly out of their pockets.
On the bright side, a screw up this big will likely force them to develop ES6 sooner just to recoup all the losses.

Fallout clone from Obsidian confirmed: The Outer Worlds is a singleplayer RPG that exemplifies player choice, in fact it utilizes TWO distinctly different choice systems, whatever that means.
Eagerly awaiting this game.

Gameplay demonstration shows Outer Worlds most definitely plays like Fallout. The Borderlands vibe shows up mostly in the art and setting (corporate influence), but not so much in anything else.
I'm also seeing more people I know who claimed to never have interest in 76 actually playing 76. They're enjoying it despite its flaws (which is why nobody polishes their games anymore). It's actually kind of funny that the one person I know who was willing to give the game a chance, me, is the one person least likely to play it (out of principle).
