THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT (or the untitled Mandalorian Season 3): So, why do people not like this show? I'll admit the dialogue is pretty weak in this one, but it's still more fan friendly Star Wars media than anything else that has been released recently. I mean you get Fett, Bane, Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka, Grogu, and a rancor all in one episode. How much more fan service can you want?

Quite a lot of things. Even the lead actor wants to reboot it.

Sounds like people wanted a whole lot more from this show than the showrunners were willing to give, but that's going to happen when the fans have elevated an otherwise unremarkable character to iconic status based on nothing more substantial than that he looks cool.
In all likelihood Favreau decided to create the Mandalorian to free himself from any constraints fans would have placed on him, and that was a good move. If he had just turned Fett into the Mandalorian, I'm sure people would spend the whole time complaining about what he did wrong.

That’s not entirely true. He’s been quite well explored in the expanded universe. There was a lot of stuff they got wrong. Favreau wasn’t’t even working on this, as he had handed it over to the director who’s name eludes me. He did such a bad job they had to bring back Jon, and junk two episodes and replace them with two essentially Mandalorian episodes.

The expanded universe was declared non-canon when Disney took over, so I'm not sure how they can be wrong about non-canon material.

Except Disney keeps raiding it for material. Ahsoka, I think will be their last chance for Star Wars. It that fails, franchise is dead.

I'm not holding out much hope for Ahsoka since Dawson is playing her all wrong.
DRAGON AGE ABSOLUTION: Super woke, but the franchise was always that way, and the action scenes are terrific. If you just want some anime level fantasy action, this show delivers. I was just fast forwarding through much of the story and getting to the fight scenes.
BLACK ROCK SHOOTER-DAWNFALL: Speaking of a show that is really only good for action...an actual anime, but on the opposite end of the spectrum. All robots and sci-fi. Basically the whole show is just an excuse to put lolis in mechanized armor, and of course everyone is gay as usual, but again, cool robot combat.

WEDNESDAY: Another show where the subject matter doesn't jive with the source material. As usual, Tim Burton does a good job getting the most out of the setting and the actors (in the episodes he directs anyway), so you can't fault the shoe's production values. In fact, if the show were made in a vacuum, you could say it's quite good overall, but the whole Harry Potter meets Nancy Drew concept just feels wonky given the protagonist is practically a heartless-maybe literally-sadist and masochist who doesn't really care about anything, nor does the concept really work when any of the Addams family is forced to face real world consequences. Here Wednesday suddenly gives a damn for no reason that is really explained about a spate of murders taking place at her school, and she doesn't care in her usual way of morbid fascination, nor do I have any clue why Gomez or Morticia would feel guilty about killing anyone. Don't they live in a house full of rotting corpses? But if you CAN get past all that, as far as Nancy Drew rips and CW style teenage drama goes, it's actually pretty good. Addams family stuff does have a unique flavour that tends to cover up a lot of faults.

There are armored gnoll-like creatures in the movie The School of Good and Evil. The movie itself is kind of meh, but I got a huge kick out of seeing the gnolls.

This run of Crunchy Roll has pretty much soured my mom's taste of the network. She had it, but she wasn't really watching it as much as I thought she was, so I used my free trial to build up a roster of shows, then grabbed her sub to actually watch them. I added a few shows for her to watch, too.
Well...she didn't like them. Actually, by the end of it she outright refused to watch any more anime. Anime's propensity to always fall back on teenage angst and boob jokes really put her off.
As for me, it's hard for me to really pick out any one show worth mentioning as they all almost always execute the same way with little or no difference. The second season of Devil Is a Part-Timer does a great job of flying through the most boring stories of the manga in one quick shot, but the new localization team is nowhere near as skilled as the first season's team. It's just not as funny. Ms. Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is still stupid silly and borderline disturbing with its depiction of pedophilia, but it doesn't go as far as the first season did, and it still has excellent animation. Konosuba is nasty, but it also happens to be the funniest show I've seen by far.
The next best shows I can think of are Restaurant to Another World, not because it's particularly well written or funny or anything like that, but it's nice to just have a relaxing show to watch while eating...which is the entirety of the show's subject matter. Parallel World Pharmacy has some very real and useful medical advice that is well worth learning.

LOCKWOOD AND CO: Has a VERY similar setup to what I planned for the supernatural game, minus the kooky school and world of ghosts stuff. What is similar though is the special skills and talents of the hunters centered around using various forms of ESP to identify and then hunt down the ghosts. Pretty average so far, but I'm getting a kick out of seeing all of my plans in action.

SONIC PRIME: Excellent production values. Lots of action.
