Cougar Town and Bones. Not really all that into them but they're something to watch while eating dinner...except Bones. I save that for after dinner.
PACIFIC RIM BLACK: A huge improvement over that shitty sequel, but it still seems to lean heavily into comic bookish territory by introducing all of these new elements that aren't really necessary. Suddenly there are robot monsters, evil AI drones, psychic kids, and weirdos controlling animals. They've also dumped much of the existing story and moved into more of a post apocalyptic thing, so there's also a Mad Max thing going on.
FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER: Unlike WandaVision, Falcon starts with a bang, immediately diving into the kind of action you expect from this kind of series. It then slows down a lot and I expect that first scene to be the most action we'll see in a while, but it's a huge improvement over Wandavision for fans and it still feels like a proper Marvel property. Off to a good start.

INVINCIBLE: An animated superhero show from Amazon with a more "mature" edge. It's basically creatively bankrupt woke trash. Darn good voice talent, though.

THE MIGHTY DUCKS: Hey, more old franchises from the 80s coming back, this time the Mighty Ducks. Emilio Estevez is also back, this time as a jaded ice rink owner who hates the fact that hockey has become too controlled and restricted. Just one episode so far and has been pretty much as expected. Estevez himself doesn't seem to have missed a beat.

DOTA-DRAGON'S BLOOD: Another anime based on a video game, this one comes from the people who did Voltron and Shera. Unlike the previous shows, this one is definitely not for younger audiences and is actually rather graphic. Still a good show so far though. Certainly better than that awful Dragon's Dogma show.

I remember one time somebody lent me wicked city when I was still quite young. Ho boy, did I wish I had known it was an 18. I had watched enough anime to know you should probably listen to age ratings.

DEADBEAT: Low budget comedy about a spiritual medium who helps ghosts work out unresolved issues. Usually those issues are silly such as a guy who died a virgin and wants to sleep with his 80 year old girl friend before he can move on.

X-MEN (NETFLIX ANIME): So far most of these new age X-Men cartoons have been pretty crappy, but this one that includes Emma Frost makes an effort to capture the feel of the 90s cartoon. Not only that, but it seems more focused on telling a single line of stories, so they don't feel as rushed as the original cartoon did. And, hey, someone FINALLY gets Wolverine right.
HARDY BOYS: Someone is clearly trying to take advantage of Nancy Drew's success, but the Hardy Boys is currently airing on a family orientated channel, so it lacks all of the lame social justice pandering that Nancy Drew has. It's okay so far, although it also seems to be leaning towards supernatural elements which is what really tanked Nancy Drew (which was an otherwise okay show before it suddenly became a ghost story).

Then the anime is better than the comic. I stopped reading Marvel comics a long, long time. Crap product written by vile people. Hardy boys got a tv series? Wow. Used to love the books. Why they think they need supernatural elements is beyond me.

That seems to be the thing right now. Take old properties and make them supernatural. It's what they did with Riverdale; however, most of these shows are developed for the CW which is a pandering network.
Still not certain Hardy Boys is doing the same just yet. They've discovered an object that gives them a great deal of luck, but there could be a rational explanation which is usually how these mysteries work.

Oh yes. I suspect the writers most of the time for the CW, want to write their own awful shows, but are told they have to write for this show.

SUPERMAN AND LOIS: Not bad. Feels like a bit of a cop out moving the series out of Metropolis and completely pretending none of the other Arrowverse shows exist anymore, but admittingly all of the Arrowverse shows suck major butt these days. Surprisingly woke free.

Have you seen transformers Armada? It's an animated series which I saw a clip on YouTube of. Looked quite decent.

I haven't even heard of it.
ALL HAIL KING JULIAN: The political angle on all of the jokes makes it a little more amusing than you average cartoon. And by political, I mean actual political concepts like how to handle poverty and diplomacy and the like, not stupid whiny BS...although there is a hilarious episode about the use of "offensive" words. It's decent background noise.
PUSS AND BOOTS: Because it's the same studio that did King Julian. Not as good as Julian, but I've always had a thing for Puss.

Getting a little iffy about the new He-Man show. The trailer for the show was released and, once again, the synopsis specifically calls out Teela, although this could be a marketing stunt.
At least she is being voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Well, here's a fun fact. Turns out the Gargoyles TV shows was also heavily written and produced by the guy behind Batman: The Animated Series. Not only that, but as early as the mid 90s, him and the original creator of the show wrote an entire script for a live action movie. Turns out Gargoyles and Batman: the Animated Series are intrinsically liked at the production level. Unfortunately, at that time the production studios weren't interested in depth and preferred raw flashy action, so they turned to people like the guy who wrote Independence Day and the guy who wrote National Treasure (you can see excerpts from the script; he pretty much shits all over the franchise and admits he never even saw the show and the whole project was "just a job" for him). Thankfully, Disney didn't like the guy's take on the story and they hired a guy who eventually went on to work on shows like Angel and Grimm, but kept the first guy for production reasons. As of May 2021, seems like all that production work, which really did happen, has faded, and the guy was auctioning off some production items.
Interestingly, in 2018, Jordan Peele approached Disney with a proposal to do a movie. Now, I don't know how Hollywood works, but apparently Disney couldn't just say "no" to him for some reason, so they kind of just said "we'll think about it" and left it at that. Peele said he felt like Disney was hoping he'd lose interest and forget about it. Apparently something about Disney not quite knowing where the property fits in their roster, although I don't see why they can't just brand it as a Marvel property. It technically was for one season.

At the moment Disney is really hurting for money. I think the nest phase of marvel films are going to do not very well.

WISH DRAGON: An Aladdin rip-off, right down to ripping some lines directly from the Disney movie. This is too bad because it was actually a decent movie.

LOKI: They took an interesting approach to this one. Rather than just being some kind of weird Marvel adventure, they decided to add some thoughtful philosophy to it. It also proves once and for all that Owen Wilson is only good when cast alongside a big personality. He can never go solo. Neat show so far.

HAZBIN HOTEL AND HELLUVA BOSS: Raunchy, but the show has an undeniable charm that's difficult to resist and it's frequently funny. As for Hazbin Hotel, same deal, although there is only one episode; however, it has garnered 65 million views and was picked up by a TV station. Mostly I just appreciate the concept.

DISNEY'S LUCA: Imagine the Little Mermaid if it were done by Pixar and followed a script from Studio Ghibli. That's Luca. While not as great as most Pixar movies, it still oozes that Pixar charm. It's a nice little story.
RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON: Nice concept. Pretty to look at. Lousy characters.
Hardy Boys has gone supernatural, although instead of a ghost story it's more of a National Treasure archeological mystery. While still surprising, I'd much prefer a historical adventure to some lame ghost story.

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: Yep. Pretty much as expected, although it's not as bad as you'd think. Frankly, I find the atrocious writing to be a much bigger offender; however, they definitely pushed Teela to the forefront and a lot of the language throughout the show has a woke feel to it. This show will definitely alienate fans or pretty much anyone with any smidgen of taste. Animation was great though.

SURREAL ESTATE: One of those shows where it has a good premise but the execution has been very cookie-cutter so far as you can tell the writers don't know how else to make the show unique outside of the whole real estate angle. Mainly watching it because it's essentially what my supernatural game is supposed to be.

STARGIRL: This show just popped up on Amazon. Leans more towards comedy, and I like the "dad as my sidekick" angle. It helps that dad drives a giant combat mech. Probably the most endearing part of the show is that it stars Luke Wilson and Amy Smart. I'm not getting a "CW" feel to it, yet. Seems this show was made for the DC Universe app.

So, what does the writing team responsible for Lucifer follow-up their excellent run with? Something equally comedic and dramatic? Maybe something less fantastical? Or more comedy?
No, they're doing a Pokemon series.
Yes, really.

CENTAUR WORLD: A parody of children's cartoons. It thinks it's funny and clever but...not really, and the voice acting and music is annoying, but the initial premise was interesting, so I just jumped right to the end.
WILLY'S WONDERLAND: Blatant Five Nights at Freddy's rip-off that sees Nicholas Cage punching the crap out of evil animatronics. It's one of those "so bad, it's good" type movies.

I think I saw that last one. Did his vehicle break down, and the mechanic con him into staying with the puppets as a way to pay for the repairs?
