Old news. The very first trailer I ever saw for the show was full of man hating lines, quips, and slogans, so I was never going to watch it. Hearing that it's awful just makes it easier to not care about the show.
The whole concept of the show was just stupid. The sexuality stuff I get, but alienating the male audience is like...the vast majority of the Batman fan base. So stupid.
*Looking at reviews, of course the usual suspects try to hype up the show to respectability, but the reader reviews generally circulate around its awful writing and production values. They actually like the actor who plays Batwoman and she is universally considered great.

The usual suspects also try to blame troll brigades for the bad reviews, but the problem with that is the viewing figures were the poorest on it's debut for any Arrowverse show, and massively dropped for the second episode. The thing is, I would have loved a decent Batwoman show. Any of the bat family really. I'm not going to watch this terrible show, because frankly I'm sick of shows bashing me because I'm a man.

The sad thing is most of the people behind these shows don't give a damn. They're just trying to take advantage of current trends and profit from them. It has nothing to do with the message they're trying so hard to push, and it shows when the production values prove to be so lackluster (which is the main critique of the show).
The funny thing is, if they had just produced a show featuring a character that was already a man hater, nobody would care. If the show was about Poison Ivy, we'd all be like "well, that's just her character".

In news that will not surprise you, ratings for Batwoman continue to tank hard. Any remaining pretense for respect of the source material disappeared in the third, or rather turd episode, where they turned Hush, an interesting villain of Batman, into a Trump clone. I'm actively rooting for cancellation.

If you really want the show to be canceled, don't root for it. Don't say anything at all, in fact. Just be quiet. As a famous corporate tycoon in Toronto said when he was asked for the secret to his success: "When I found something I didn't like, I didn't talk about it, but when I found something I liked, I wouldn't shut up about it".
I don't know anything about Hush and you know this sort of thing is in my wheelhouse. What exactly did they do to him that was so wrong?

Hush, was a childhood friend of Bruce. Like Bruce he lost his father at a young age but Thomas Wayne was able to save Hush's mum. However Hush, as boy, actually arranged the accident that killed his dad, and nearly his mum, to inherit their fortune. Hush harboured a grudge against Thomas Wayne for saving his mum. When Bruce's parents died, hush transferred the grudge against Bruce. In later life he became a doctor, and when his own money ran out, hatched a scheme to rob Bruce by performing plastic surgery on himself to make him the double of Bruce Wayne. Hush is almost unique in having a personal grudge against Bruce rather than Batman. The character just doesn't work without Bruce Wayne. Worse still having Hush in this show just to be a cut and paste of Donald Trump devalues the character. They may as well have called him something else. This was blatantly done to be woke. Don't get me wrong, I don't oppose reworking a character for TV or film. For example I think Gotham did a good one with Firefly. Hush was actually in the Arkham series under his real name Dr Thomas Elliot.

Batwoman continues to tank hard. It's just...awful. I think that it will probably get a second season/chance from the CW, although frankly it would be far kinder to cancel it now.

Is it my imagination or are the animated DC movies fanservice-y? I just saw a bunch of clips from the Batman and Harley movie, and, while I appreciate the animation style and an attempt to make the characters feel like more adult orientated versions of the Animated Series character, it still seems weird to see Nightwing bang Harley or Batman to simply forget to use fire against a villain.
It's starting to feel like there is no real talent behind any of these properties any more, just like there is no real talent behind the new Star Wars movies. That or the talent is so blinded by fanboyism that they can't write properly.

Batman and Harley was just stupid. From what I've of the other releases, it's mostly just the exception rather than the rule. I would recommend the Flashpoint Paradox. It's quite good and my only real complaint with it, is I think it should have been a two parter so they could have covered more. With Batman, I think speaking as a Damian Wayne fan, there was a little too much Damian fanservice, but that seems to have been corrected.

Kevin Conroy made an appearence on Batwoman as a live action Batman, during the crisis event. Show shows respect for his legacy by having Batwoman kill him in one punch. Really. Yet another reason to not watch this dumpster fire they laughingly call entertainment. Fuck you CW and the horse you rode in on.

Haven't been able to watch any of it. My TV package included the channels necessary to watch all of the shows...and then suddenly those channels were taken away. I've missed everything except The Flash which is on Netflix.

Looks like future seasons of Batwoman have been picked up by HBO, although I don't know why they think anyone would be willing to sub for that show.

If they replace the show runners and writers, maybe they have a shot. I think too much damage has been done though.

Batwoman continues to tank. Viewership for the last episode was 0.777 million. Given how woke the last episode was, I'm not surprised. At this point an origin show about the crazy quilt Batman villain could beat it. It's the first week Batwoman performed worse than Supergirl.

Wish me luck. I have to endure an episode of Batwoman if I want to watch Part 2 of "Crisis on Infinite Earths".

New Batman movie apparently has Zoe Kravitz and Colin Farrell as Catwoman and Penguin respectively. I find Farrell an odd choice but he's talented enough to make it work.

Looks like you were right about the whole "woke agenda" thing just being a marketing ploy. It was recently revealed that the producers of Birds of Prey encouraged the entire cast and crew to push the movie as a feminist movie, despite the fact people tell me there is nothing feminist about it. It's just Harley running around killing random people.

I'm told that it's an average film, with little woke in it. It's something I would have liked to seen had they remained close to the source material. As it is, I'm not going to see it. Hilariously it seems they had to get someone else to do the action scenes, as the director didn't know what she's doing. It amused me that Ewan McGregor was pushing the woke misogyny agenda, as he cheated on his wife with a younger woman he met in Fargo. She's actually in this as well.

Okay, you're not going to believe this, but it turns out the people who supported Birds of Prey are so pissed that the Sonic Movie is doing well that they're trying to accuse the Sonic Movie's writers of being bigoted.

Not only do I believe it, but they were trying to sabotage it before it came out. Most tried to complain it had homophobic slurs in it, despite there being no way in hell they could have seen it. They say the best revenge is to live well, and Sonic the hedgehog is certainly doing that. It's the highest opening weekend of a videogame adaptation, beating Pikachu, and I think it's already done double what Birds Of Prey did in all the time it's been out. In one week double what Birds Of Prey made in two. This is what happens when you listen to the fans and don't take massive dumps on them. They support your films. Go woke, go broke.

Saw about half the Joker movie.
Basically Joker is evil because he has a mental illness and society was insensitive to his needs.
So the usual woke stuff. Good acting and writing, sure, but it is what it is.

DC is making Gotham High. Basically everyone is a teenager and goes to school. From what I've heard of it, comic sounds like a Gossip Girl/romance kind of thing. Oh, Bruce Wayne, Jack Napier and Selina Kyle are in a love triangle. You really have to feel for the comic book stores that do reopen and are forced to try and sell this crap.

Apparently it's based on an old YouTube video some years back that got over one million views. This reeks of corporate greed. "Oh, look! This one joke video that everyone knows is a joke and appreciates as a joke because it's obviously so NOT a serious take on the Batman universe got over a million views. WE CAN SELL THIS!!! $$$$"
When you're playing just for the money, you're playing to lose. Seriously, I did entire projects in my systems classes on companies that began focusing on their share price above all else. They may tread water for awhile, sometimes a long time, but, unless good leadership steps in to right the ship, they ultimately falter and die.
I'm not seeing an end to comics, new ones still pop up all the time, but the classic superhero books seem to be on the way out.

Many comic books stores are going to close their doors for good. It's hard not to see this as a comic book apocalypse. The one good thing about this, is that hopefully independent publishers may grow to challenge the big two. A lack of competition is probably another reason why it's in decline. If you saw how comic book writers, particularly ones from Marvel, treat their own fans/customers, you would realise it's about ideology rather than money.

I've seen some of those videos of the writers freaking out at fans, yes.
Anyway, it isn't a comic book-I'd love to finish my comic books but I can't draw worth shit-but I fully intend to build my "no agenda, just game news" website. I likely won't finish it, but I'm tired of gaming news sites that treat their websites like sounding boards for their political shit or big fat jokes.

Michael Keaton is in early talks to play Bruce Wayne in the Flash movie. Might not happen as he's on record as not wanting to reprise his role. Still if they do get him, that would be so cool. I think this movie is intended as a soft reboot of the DCEU, so they can keep the stuff that works, and ditch the stuff that doesn't.

That new Arkham game is looking very interesting. Open world RPG brawler with a full drop-in co-op support but absolutely no live elements. Basically it's doing what Avengers is doing except it doesn't look like it sucks.

Avengers sucked, whilst I'm sure there were other elements, because of Marvel imposing stuff. Like the lead being Miss Marvel, who's not terribly well known or popular, but ticks all the boxes of diversity. I'm looking forward to it too. We know the court of owls is involved, so Bruce might not be dead, but brainwashed into being a Talon.
