The trailer for the Joker movie would make you cry. Or rage. Essentially, Joker is evil because he was a comedian and nobody liked his act.

I wasn't planning on seeing it anyway. Aside from the Mark Hamil version, I've never really cared for Joker.

Gotham has been watchable this season. Fewer stinker episodes, though it's still not brilliant. Jeremiah probably the best villain on it, since Penguin's actor is clearly waiting to move on to something else. Although to be fair, he seems to make more of an effort when Riddler is on the same scene as him. Barbara continues to suck the life out of every scene she's in. They semn to have cut Harvey's airtime down. Bruce and Gordon do the best with the material they're given, but Bruce remains one of my few favourite parts of Gotham.

Harvey is long gone. Penguin moved on to Happy where he is essentially the same character, except more perverted...since he's playing a pervert, so...
Sounds like you're still a season behind since you haven't mentioned Harley yet.

You mean Ecco? Probably the closest we'll get to a faithful to the comic live action version of Joker/Harley. It kind of sucks that the show can't officially call them Joker and Harley. Harvey is still in the show, just not as much as he used to be, and it is the final series. Or season.

So...a new run of comics that essentially focuses on murderers that Batman has chased over the years...or something? I dunno. Seems awfully obsessed with death. You know how I feel about that.

Eww. Kaley Cuocu voicing Harley in a new animated series focusing on her abusive relationship with Joker.
I like Cuocu, but only in the same capacity that I like Megan Fox or Chloe Bennett.

She is a good comedic actress but I don't think she has the dramatic range for Harley. Weird. Her cast mate voiced Harley in an animated film.

Hmm...I was going to say they should consider Tara Strong, but apparently she has already done of the voice of Harley and...it's not very good. Too whiny. Which is weird because I've seen her do the voice at conventions and she sounds perfect. I wonder why she did a much worse voice for a game?

Probably direction or she hadn't found her Harley voice yet. So I have good news/bad news. There's a Pennywortb prequel in production. Bad news it's by the people who made Gotham.

Wait, what? I knew about the prequel, but I thought it was being done by entirely different people.

It's being led by Bruno Heller whom was the Gotham showrunner.

So the last episode of Gotham airs later on today. In general I think the shorter season has really helped it. In saying that it's still fairly average but I'm not switching off mid episode which was not uncommon in some of the previous seasons. Most of the cast seem to be doing their best, with a couple of exceptions. The motivation of avenging Ra's would have made more sense had it been Talia. Nyssa loathes her father in the comics and goes by Ratko instead of al Ghul. She even murders him in one story.

So the finale. Mixed feelings about it. Some parts felt very lazy and rushed but I think I mostly enjoyed it. Probably would have been better if they had spread it out over 2 hours and let everyone have a proper goodbye. They finally let Selena have a good hair cut! Sadly they wasted the opportunity again to kill Barbara off. They also had a not subtle pop at WB not letting them use the joker name.

Sure you have seen the finale? It doesn't sound like it. Did you see fat Penguin and adult Selena replacement?

Yes it took me longer than I'm going to admit to, to notice though it was more obvious they weren't using the original actor for Bruce either. It's why the the last Bruce and Selena scene fell flat. I think I understand why the recasting happened. Whilst they could age the actors, they couldn't make them taller. It's a shame really. Those two have been consistently good. Jim should have either kept the moustache or not had it at all.

Kevin Conroy cast to play Bruce Wayne when he appears in the upcoming season of Arrow.

That's an interesting choice. It will be his first live action portrayal of the character.

So someone was arguing it's weird how it's not okay for filmmakers to retcon the backstories of beloved comic book characters, but it's okay for comic book writers to do that. This is in relation to the Joker movie.
That made me think, though. Who says it's okay for comic writers to make these changes? Just because some new guy comes along and thinks he can do it better doesn't necessarily mean the fans are okay with it. Seems like a silly argument to me.

The new Joker movie is supposedly getting rave reviews. From what I'm hearing, it doesn't sound like you'll be too happy with why. Looks like he's being turned into yet another socio-political figure.

The big news is actually we might be getting a black Batman. The son of Lucius Fox, who's currently Batwing. With the recent death of Alfred, it looks like Bruce might be heading off into the sunset with Selina for a while, until the inevitable reset button happens.

You're talking about the comics, right? At least that makes a lick of sense since Fox was always a major force behind Batman and was clearly loyal to him and his crusade, although I don't see why there has to be a new Batman when they can just be new heroes replacing the old. That's essentially what happened with Nightwing and the like.

Actually Dick Grayson was Batman for a while, whilst Bruce was presumed dead by the hand of Darkseid. There was quite a competition for the cowl too.

Saw Pennyworth, the young Alfred show.
I dunno...I was okay with the idea of exploring Alfred's younger days as a badass, but they've decided to go with this weird alternative history schtick. I know the show isn't supposed to be set in the popular Batman universe but it should still be SOMEWHAT similar.

I hope they have more of a plan with this, than what they had with Gotham. Not holding my breath. Krypton got cancelled. One of us might have already said that.

So "Birds of Prey". This was a superhero mainly female team, formed up by a handicapped Barbara Gordon in her Oracle identity, with Huntress and Black Canary as her field agents. This was actually a pretty good series. Now there's a film coming out in February. My biggest problem with it, is Harley Quinn seems to be the one in charge now. I can understand why they didn't put Barbara in, there's a Batgirl movie due, but they could have put Black Canary in charge, and gotten in any other gal who's been a member for the movie. I know why they put her in though. Cynical money grab. It also looks like they're going to be messing with the origin of Cassandra Cain as well.

So Batwoman has a tv series. Apparently it's bad. It hasn't helped the main star alienated most of the people who would have watched it via stating it wasn't for old white dudes.
