I'm seeing a lot of talk about recasting characters from the MCU and about how nobody wants to see anyone else play Iron Man or Captain America. While I mostly agree, I think the solution is obvious and, frankly, the most welcome one.
Just introduce new heroes.
Why does it always have to be Iron Man? Why does it always have to be Captain America? From what I understand, Captain America dies soon anyway, and Tony Stark retired awhile ago in the comics and has his protege donning the Iron Man suit. Why not use this opportunity to introduce new heroes? There is no shortage of other heroes worthy of movies in the Marvel universe. Heck, even the ones that aren't worthy ended up launching a major film franchise (Guardians).

I don't have a problem with recasting. As long as the actor is right for the part, there shouldn't be a problem. Look at Bond. As for Captain America, it's not just Steve who's held that mantle. It's just he's the most iconic. Frankly they need to shake things up. If none of the main characters die, then plot momentum becomes plot inertia.

I don't know what happens during the Infinity Crisis, but I imagine Thanos will kill off at least a few heroes, heh. That is if they actually make a real effort to portray him as the most dangerous villain in the MCU.

I really hope he does. It would certainly freshen up things.

Apparently Reeves is trying to get Affleck kicked off the next Batman movie. He says Affleck is too old for the part, but I'm betting he just doesn't want to work with Affleck.

That's a shame. His performance in Batman vs Superman was easily the best thing in it.

Martin Scorsese doing a Joker spin-off as a hardcore crime movie. Sound good?

Could be. Depends on the script. I fervently hope they replace Leto.
Looks like we're getting Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke the Terminator for the Batman. Fun fact, his nickname precedes the Arnie movie.

Leto has been replaced. Confirmed.
Are you saying Deathstroke is in the next movie or that the actor who plays him, who was also in the Terminator, is in the next Batman movie?

Deathstroke the Terminator is actually the character's full name. It hasn't been used as much since the Terminator movies. Slade is going to be the villain in the new Batman movie. It's an interesting choice as in the comics I don't remember him fighting Batman much. I know he appears in the Arkham games.

Oh. That explains that.
Hopefully they're going with Slade because they have a good idea and not because he's "hot" right now, although I wouldn't put it past WB to just go with the hot hand. He is the reason why Arrow Sn.2 was the best of the bunch so far.

Well, I'm sure you're happy: Leto has apparently been replaced as Joker. There are two Joker movies in development, neither of which will use Leto which confused him to the point of commenting about it. As usual, Scorsese wants to use DeCaprio as Joker.
This comes at the expense of the Sirens movie though.
That is exactly what happened, fyi. Totally called it.

So...Gotham's back.
It's somehow dumber than ever and has crossed the line into "so bad, it's good" territory. Penguin is selling "licenses" to commit crimes, which the city is okay with, but you'd think the state or the rest of the country would have a problem with it. I think the actor must also be losing interest because he wasn't as charming as usual. Ivy and Penguin was a shockingly good combination...until she betrayed him for...no reason whatsoever. Zsasz has suddenly become a comedian. The scary hitman demeanour worked for him, but he has one funny scene last season and now he's a wisecracking smartass?
Bruce is full blown vigilante now, but his choreography is bad, so he just looks silly throwing all these enormous bruisers around like ragdolls. It's hard to care about Gordon anymore since it's more of the same with him. He was fine early on, but now that the show is more about the villains, seeing Gordon being all frustrated and running around trying to keep all the crime in check is...well, boring. Selena is okay so far.
So, why keep watching? They moved it to Thursday, which is a light night.

Barbara is still alive. And now she is a big time gun runner. And has bleached white hair.
So...yeah.

Lucius Fox just gave Bruce a military combat suit which Alfred then outfitted with a simple mask he found to protect Bruce's identity...which just so happens to have that "bat" look, heh. So he's on his way.
And Nigma has been defrosted...by a crazy fangirl with a hairdrier, dressed entirely in Catwoman's getup for some reason (then murdered by Zasz, who once again played comedian by commenting on her Riddler dress), nevermind the fact Mr. Freeze was driven to desperation because he couldn't figure out a safe way to defrost Nora. I guess the world's best chryospecialist was just too smart to ever consider something so simple as using a hairdrier.
At this point it's all about seeing Bruce finally become Batman. The actor is getting pretty tall.

Barbara and Ra's Al Ghul are a couple.
On the bright side, Ra's had a badass moment when he slit a kid's throat purely to spite Bruce.

Turns out it's less of a coupling and more like Ra's took Barbara's body and is now controlling her. He's still acting more like a whacky psycho than the calm and controlled strategist that he was in the animated series.

And now I recognize the girl in "The Gifted". It's the girl who played Silver St. Cloud in Gotham.

Yeah, it was enjoyable, but I noticed a lot of the jokes were aimed more squarely at the Batverse than I expected, even more obscure stuff, so I figured one's enjoyment of the movie greatly increases the more you know the lore.
Gotham just had a surprisingly good episode. I'm shocked. Penguin suddenly recovered from his stupid streak and became vintage, Nygma making fun of Penguin in his classic getup was hilarious, Selena had a very Catwoman like moment, and Gordon's story arc was more grounded in police politics rather than super-cop stuff. Oh, and Grundy beating a guy to death with his own arm, and they didn't skimp on the gore at all. Even Barbara had a good scene.
Still some silly stuff, but seeing all of these characters suddenly start expressing characteristics of their classic egos and not just over acting all the time was not only refreshing, but it made the show finally have that "click" moment. In other words, a show focusing on JUST the villains, with only the most minor of time for the "heroes" (no Bruce at all), was, as I always theorized, much more entertaining and interesting than anything the heroes are up to. We already know much of where the heroes came from. Seeing how all the villains developed is what we REALLY wanted to know.
