Spotting Renallo, Wynd will run towards him with shield held up and sword at the ready. She'll attempt to slash at him as she runs by, perferably from the backside of him and his mount. But she'll take what she can get.
She'll continue to move as she circles his horse while trying to stab at him and block with the shield as appropriate.

Blaine summons up a Skeleton in the midst of the Hands, then tries to get close enough to Renallo to yank him off his horse. If he finds himself too far away, he'll settle for tripping the guards up, making sure to nail them on the way down.

(Don't forget to always provide 2 rounds worth of actions.) * * * * * [glow=red,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] ************** Captain Renallo is taking a moment to study the fight. After Marvin calls out to us, Renallo suddenly becomes more cautious. He spins his horse around, then pulls out his crossbow. As for Marvin, he lobs a ball of acid at Renallo, but this time the good captain dodges the attack. Now Marvin plays it smart and runs towards Wynd just as the centaur goes after the captain. The other Hands fire their bows at Marvin as he departs the fight, and the halberd users give chase. When it becomes obvious Wynd plans to join the fray, Marvin heads towards Blaine instead, and the halbard Hands suddenly become a little confused. One arrow sticks Marvin good. Right in the side. I think that may have hit a kidney (-8 HP). Now limping, Marvin spins around to face the new fight. When Renallo pulls his crossbow, I pull mine and fire it at him. Renallo fires at Wynd, and unlike me, hits her in the shoulder (-5 HP). Wynd now reaches Renallo and takes a swing at him using her impressive reach. Impressive is also a good description of the bloody slash to Renallo's chest (-12 HP). Blaine now approaches. He summons his skeletal friend among the Hands with the bows, then readies his whip. The skeleton immediately goes after the nearest bowman who gets slashed good (-4 HP). ROUND 2: Marvin begins to defend against the approaching halberd wielding Hands while the bowmen scramble to get away from the skeleton. They make the mistake of firing arrows at skeleton, the arrows passing harmlessly through the skeleton's ribs, while the halberd wielders decide to leave Marvin and go after Wynd. The reach of the halberds allow them to bypass Wynd's reach, but these guys are clearly amateurs. They wave their halberds like flags! I fire my crossbow again, this time scraping the captain, and when it becomes obvious to Renallo he's been tricked into an ambush, he takes a defensive swing at Wynd before spurring his horse towards the road. This leaves him open to an attack from Wynd, which leads to disasterous results. She cuts deeply into his spine (-16 HP). Renallo nearly tumbles off his horse! Wynd continues to give chase, which leaves her flanks exposed to the halberd wielders, but that's okay. They can't breach her armor. She swings around and attacks Wynd again, and this time he falls off his horse. The horse continues without its rider. Without Renallo, Blaine focues on a nearby Hand. Too bad he ends up just snapping his whip in their faces. Skelly attacks, but misses. Wynd looks down at Renallo.
"How does it feel, huh?" She says as she pokes at his male parts with her longsword. "You like that?" Wynd says before slicing it off.
She'll shove it in his mouth before running off to help Marvin, attacking the nearest Hand.

[glow=red,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] **************
The bowmen continue to stupidly fire their arrows at the skeleton. One of them finally knocks a rib off, but the damage is nothing to the skeleton. It takes one last stab at a bowmen, then falls apart.
Wynd begins taunting the fallen captain, then she...oh good lord! That makes ME wince. Ugh...
At least he was unconscious when it happened. He's certainly dead now.
"Revenge can be a blessing."
"Yes, but it is also justice."
Turning away, I focus on the halberd wielders near Marvin and Blaine. I fire a bolt, but it goes wide, while Blaine continues to disarm and Marvin goes all spellsy. Blaine manages to wrap his whip around a halberd, but he can't pull it free.
The two halberd wielders decide to split their attention between Blaine and Marvin. Marvin blocks the slash with his shield just fine, but Blaine feels the razor sharp blade cross his abdomin (-5 HP).
ROUND 2: =======
With the skeleton gone, the stupid archers decide to go after me and Wynd.
CRAP! That stings! I guess I shouldn't complain. Wynd got an arrow in the ribs (-8 HP).
Despite the arrow in her ribs, Wynd spins around and goes after the halberd wielders. She focuses on the one attacking Marvin, and runs him through (-13 HP). The Hand is still alive, but now he's worse for wear. Marvin takes advantage of Wynd's attack and delivers a slash of his own. When it's all over, there is one less Hand standing. The other Hand strikes at Blaine again (-4 HP) before turning and running to join the archers. I fire a bolt at him mid-run, but it's only a scratch.
When the three remaining Hands regroup, they spin around and run. I don't know how far they expect to get on foot, but all the easier for us. I pop one with a bolt as they run.
It really boils down to the bandit chase again. Wynd runs one down while the archers periodically spin around to fire arrows at her. The rest of us follow the best we can, but only Blaine and I are able to get close enough to do anything. It doesn't take long to finish them off.

I immediately search for bolts and treasure on the persons of the dead soldiers while my comrades celebrate in their own unique way. I pay special attention to the dead Captain Renallo and discover some scrolls on his belt. They appear to be a series of orders and jobs:
I also find a map showing an unexplored area of the Demon Road, and a very strange looking iron thing, roughly a foot long with a hinge in the center of it. A note is attached to the iron thing reading "Please deliver to Mobu".
There is another slip of paper in Renallo's pocket. It appears to be another order. I open it up, read, and...
My eyes nearly pop out of their sockets. I can't believe this! I thought it was a legend. It can't be!
I hastily shove this order into my pocket lest my allies see it. I don't think they're ready for this yet.
"We must have that!"
I shake my head. "It would be suicide to go after it now."
I share the orders and jobs with my allies, but I keep the slip of paper secret...for now. "Okay, he is dead. Now can we get out of here and hide until this stink blows over?"

[glow=blue,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] ***************
These guys finally start talking some sense. Now they want to hide until things cool down, and I have the perfect spot in mind. But before we can head north, we must first return to Gold Road to prep up and resupply and stuff. We're far too short on food and water to make the trip north.
As we're preparing, I notice we're short one captured merchant. When I ask Blaine about it, he doesn't seem too interested in explaining. I hope the poor sod didn't suffer much. As for everything else the merchant had, we abandon it. I think the two packhorses will be useful, so I mount one and lead the other. Without a saddle this is going to be a rough ride, but we're only a few hours out and there's no need to ride quickly. Before we go, I grab a few choice pieces from the dead Hands I think will be useful, especially the crossbow and the tabards. Never know when that kind of stuff can come in handy.
We arrive in Gold Road a few hours after noon, but not to the usual joyous sight of a busy marketplace. Gold Road is a fishy place at night, but it's less remarkable during the day when it transforms into an honest bazaar. At least, when it's a functioning bazaar. The smoke plumes and fires lining the northern section of the town definitely do not look inviting. But that's nothing compared to the destruction! A few of the houses on the northern side of the city seem to have been completely smashed. I can see a number of warriors running around, but I can't see whoever, or whatever, is causing the destruction. The warriors aren't fighting eachother, just...searching.
"That is odd. I wonder if barbarians are raiding the town," I reach for my trusty looking glass only to be disappointed to find it's not there. Damn guards must have taken it. "I guess we'll just have to go in for a closer look. We have business here anyway."

Firstly, Blaine sighs, pulls out his wand, and heals Wynd, Marvin, and himself back up to a respectable level. (Not quite full, but within 3-4 points thereof.) He then thinks to himself that if there's looting going on, he can surely find something else fun to do in town.

(Updated reference sheets. Still need Wynd's level) * * * * *
[glow=blue,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] ***************
Blaine begins healing everyone with that magical wand of his at the mention of injuries. 5 taps produces miraculous results, and soon everyone is back in tip-top shape. Well, almost everyone, but I'm not going to worry about my little scratch.
Seeing as how everyone is healed, we begin to approach Gold Road. We avoid the northern area of the town and focus on the southern entrance. As expected, we find the guards up in arms and many civilians standing about muttering about the event.
"What's going on?" I ask. I don't like feeling left out of the loop.
"A metal monster is destroying the town!" a guard replies before running north.
Boy, that sounds exciting, doesn't it? Good thing we decided to avoid this one. Just as the guards run off, I notice a merchant of magical goods is in the middle of an earnest conversation. Something to do with his brother's smithy on the north edge of town. I don't care about that. I care about the "Bag of Holding" left in a precarious position at the far edge of the stand. I swipe it, then quickly leave the scene.
Just as the rest of the group is trying to decide what to do, an enormous shudder snaps everyone's attention to the north. The metal-monster has produced itself. I gape in awe at the silvery monstrosity, a great big sphere of metal with a large, red "eye" in the center of it. It is easily 15 ft. tall, and there are arms and legs protruding from its bulk in choice spots. It's like somebody stuck some arms and legs on a metal ball, then gave it an eye.
"UNG JAH GOH!!!" the monster shouts in a weird, vibrating voice, like someone speaking through a tube.
Looks like the warriors and guards have already had a piece of the monster. Arrows and spears cover nearly every square inch of the beast, and a few cracks mar its glistening skin.
"UNG JAH GOH!!!" the monster shouts again.
"It's going to attack again!" the guards yell as they begin to form lines.
It may be an awesome sight, but I'm not in the middle of it. I find an abandoned mug of ale, sit down on a stool, and enjoy the show.
I guess someone with a bow or something could nail it from here.
The metallic-monster is destroying the town. The party is within bow shot of the monster, but they're basically out of the fight. Just spectators at the moment. Actions?

[glow=blue,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] ***************
Hey, where are they going? The centaur and spellsword are heading north! They're not actually thinking of...oh, I guess they're not. They begin to root around some debris on the north side of town while the guards do the real work. Good for them.
* * * * *
The metallic-monster draws in its limbs and begins to roll around. It smashes through another house sending the wooden structuring crumbling to the ground. Debris flies everywhere, and sharp splinters slice into the lightly armoured guards. The monster immediately spins around using a leg and an arm, then rolls its way back into the fight. A number of guards get squashed like grapes while the surviving guards thrust at the monster with their spears as it rolls by.
But Wynd, and I suppose Marvin, don't care. They run over to the smithy and begin searching for any valuables that may be lying around, while Blaine and Dagg enjoy the fight. At first they quickly identify mundane items like pots and pans, plus the odd battered weapon lying around.
(SEARCH) Both Wynd and Marvin perform a search of the debris and make the same discoveries:
-A large number of simple weapons (ask me for a specific one and I'll tell you if it's there) -A small number of martial weapons (same as above) -Scattered coins (41 gp each, 210 sp each)
"You line your pockets while others heroically fight to save others..."
"How utterly delightful!"
[glow=red,6,300]EVILUTION +1[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300][/glow] After a few hectic minutes of fighting, the guards finally succeed at defeating the monster. It slams to the ground in a cloud of dust, and bolts of pinkish energy burst through the cracks. A red smoke drifts out from the cracks, and after a few discharges of energy, the eye blasts out of the creature with great force. The shock wave causes the guards to fall to the ground. As the final whisps of red mist rise into the sky, the metallic creature's body cracks like an egg revealing a large, reddish crystal within. It must be worth a small fortune.
The guards must agree, because they, and the warriors, charge the crystal after a few moments of staring in awe. 20 guards and warriors begin to fight eachother for ownership of the crystal.

[glow=blue,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] ***************
It looks like those guards are fighting over that crystal in the metallic-monster. So much for heroism. Wynd and Marvin are watching the fight with interest. I guess they're planning on going after that crystal themselves, but there may be too many guards to try right this moment. I continue to watch with interest.
There is suddenly a high-pitched, snarling sound. A catfolk wearing a Holy Knight tabard suddenly appears from behind me and begins marching towards the scene of the fight. A few other Hands guards follow him. That must be Xarken.
"What is this? What is going on?" Xarken growls this time, like an angry tiger. Everyone nearby, guard and civilian alike, cower from the catfolk.
I follow as the catfolk approaches the scene of the fighting. At the very sight of the barbarian hero, the fighting immediately stops. The catfolk twists his whiskers on his impressive snout as he examines the scene with his yellow eyes. As I get closer, I can see his eyes narrowing at the soldiers near the crystal.
His ear twitches.
The guards wince. Woah, a twitching ear must speak volumes among these guys.
"Get over here, you animals," Xarken snarls. The guards yelp, then scramble over to the catfolk's side without a single word. As for the warriors who aided in the fight, they stare at the catfolk in fear.
"You dare stare at me with your mouths hanging open? Be gone, you beasts! Never set foot in my town again!" Xarken shouts. And with that, the warriors scatter, the red crystal forgotten.
I gotta admit, this Xarken character sure has some clout around here. It doesn't look like anyone is willing to stand up to him.
"You!" Xarken suddenly points at Wynd. He marches right up to her and shoves his finger right in her face. "I set out not too long ago to meet Captain Renallo. Instead I find him dead on the road. I remember seeing you leave here yesterday, and yet here you are today. You must have seen who killed him. Speak! If you know something, tell me!"
I take a step back from the scene. Crap! We forgot to clear the bodies!

Wynd stares down at the catfolk for a moment matching his angry gaze. She swats his finger out of her face. She breathes deeply and gribs the new lance tightly in an attempt to calm down long enough to tell a convincing story.
"There were about 5-6 guys that were already raiding the fallen Renallo and his deceased men when I arrived. I decided to come back to town instead of crossing them, for fear I would suffer the same fate. I just came back to find this giant metal thing destroying the town, don't know anything else."

[glow=blue,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] ***************
Wynd begins stinking up the place with this...ABSURD lie. Why, oh, why didn't she just say she doesn't know anything about Renallo?
I begin to inch away before things get messy, but much to my surprise, Xarken NODS at her. He believes her!
>>Wynd's Bluff beats Xarken's Sense Motive *Wynd dodges a bullet, +100 exp.
"Hmm..." a growl escapes from deep within Xarken's throat as he ponders Wynd's lie. "That is...interesting."
"We did find that murdered merchant too, and one of those other mysterious bodies," a soldier by Xarken's side interrupts. "Maybe Renallo was trying to stop a highway robbery?"
Xarken rubs his chin. "Yes, but those bodies were at least a day old, and some were mutilated..."
Xarken suddenly gives Wynd a dismissive wave. "Get out of here, centaur, and take your puny friend here with you."
Whew! Wow, that was close. I wave at Wynd and motion for her and Marvin to come to me, but I'm interrupted by another strange noise. More shaking...uh, oh...
A short distance up the road to Lazos, everyone can see a very tall, fully armored figure approaching the town. It seems to be running, or lumbering, or something...I don't know, it is moving oddly. As it gets closer, it soon becomes obvious why: it is very tall, at least 20 ft, and it is covered from head to toe in wrought iron armor. There is no way this thing is a normal creature. It has to be an iron golem.
Well, okay, I've never seen a golem before, but I've heard tales. Everyone has heard tales. They're big, and they're crafted out of some material. This thing is big and made almost entirely of iron. I mean, come on, if this isn't a golem, what is?
Xarken sees it too. His jaw drops for a moment, then he spins around and begins barking orders to his soldiers.
"The gods curse us this day! Form into lines, ready the spears! Prep the crossbows!" the catfolk shouts as he runs up and down the road.
It doesn't take long for the iron giant to reach the town. As it approaches, it slows down, and soon comes to a complete stop. The soldiers ready for an attack, but instead of watching yet another battle with a big metallic creature, the golem simply bends down to one knee. After a moment, a gnome emerges from behind the golem's head and jumps down to the ground.
"Wait!" the gnome yells as he raises his hands. "Don't worry, it won't hurt you. It is with me. Everything is entirely under my control."
Xarken and his soldiers stare at the gnome with great curiousity as he runs up to the broken egg of the "ung jah goh"...thing. The gnome examines the mess, and after a few moments, turns to Xarken.
"You know what this thing is?" Xarken asks.
"Yes. I'm sorry, it was an experiment of mine. I sent it into the plains to hunt deer, just to test its capabilities, but this...! I'm sorry, I had no idea. It should never have identified you as targets. I don't know what went wrong," the gnome mutters something else under his breath.
Xarken tilts his head as he examines the gnome more closely. I don't think it matters much, but after a closer examination of my own, I do notice a guild herald on the back of the gnome's black cloak.
"Stupid Inventor League's scum!" Xarken growls. "Do you have any idea what your mistake has cost this town? A handfull of good men and thousands of gold worth of damage! What is your name?"
"M-Mobu..." the gnome stutters. Mobu...where have I heard that name before?
"Your guild will hear of this," Xarken says with a snarl. He then points at the crystal. "And I will take this as payment for your fine! Pray the Knights don't issue a warrant for your arrest."
The gnome sighs. "I suppose that is fair."
Wow, what a day. As the sun begins to set, Xarken and his soldiers secure the crystal and clear the debris from the metallic-sphere monster. Mobu seems to be contemplating his situation near his golem.
I guess that's our cue. We should begin heading north. Maybe we can get a few hours march in before it gets dark. We should secure some supplies first, and take care of anything else that needs to be done before we go.

"I nearly forgot," I reply before handing the iron thing to the gnome. "Maybe it's because the gold was so little. My memory seems to work in tune to the jingling of coin in my pouch."
Mobu sighs, and hands me a large handful of gold (50gp each). "Look, I'm in a bit of trouble here. Maybe I can offer you guys a job..."
