Wynd will draw her sword, eyeing Tim closely, cautiously. She doesn't plan on being gentle in any means. This is a good chance for her to release some of her anger she had to repress earlier. This guy only wants to duel me cause I'm female. And he thinks females are weak. Maybe I can get some money from him. Wynd thinks. "Good luck to you, sir." Wynd says just before she starts to stab at him and use her shield accordingly. If the opportunity arises, Wynd will use her shield to push Tim away, and even push him to the ground if the opportunity presents itself. If Wynd thinks she is starting to lose, she'll use her two front hooves to hit the guy while also using her sword. If Tim tries to go behind her, she'll kick at him with her hooves, and then quickly turn around to strike at him with her sword. (okay i hope that was what you wanted. never did one of these before. )

(That's pretty good)
DUEL:
Tim eyes Wynd closely as she draws her sword and advances, but the swordsman doesn't make much effort to duck or sway as the centaur attacks. She starts with a powerful overhand slash to the swordsman's noggin, but he easily avoids it by merely turning his head. Of course. It was an obvious attack. This guy might know a thing or two.
Instead of countering, Tim allows Wynd another attack. She swings for his chest this time, but he turns away.
"Hmm...I see," Tim says with a slight nod as he suddenly launches into a quick series of stabs, which somehow manage to find every weakness in her armor, to the knee, chest, and upper-front leg. As promised, the stabs are merely slightly sore throbs instead of excruciating stings, but they still hurt.
Wynd decides to try and trick the swordsman with a kick. It turns out to be a good move because she hammers him dead-on in the chest.
"Good show!" Tim yells as he suddenly tumbles past her impressive reach and strikes her in the hind quarters. She counters with a back-kick, but this time he is ready for it and ducks. He quickly lands another series of throbbing strikes to key parts of Wynd's back legs, and she suddenly finds all of her strength robbed from her. She collapses to the ground.
Tim flashes what appears to be a disappointed look. "Good form. With practice you may improve. I appreciate the duel. Good luck in your travels."
With that, Tim bows, then turns and makes his way towards the road to Lazos (Exp.+50).
It only takes a few minutes for the pain to subside.

[glow=blue,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] ***************
I quickly duck into the nearest booth. I had to pass Renallo's table to get to this booth, but I needed to get close enough to hear them, yet remain hidden. I turn my back to them, and when a nice young woman asks me what I want, I order a pint.
This tavern is one rough place. It's packed to the brim with patrons of all types, all of which are drinking or laughing or causing some sort of mischief. At one table a group of humans and elves are flicking stones between cups. A couple halflings are dancing on another table. A few dark dwarves are warily eyeing a gnome and hill dwarf studying some kind of gem. There is even a Tiefling arm-wrestling an orc in the corner. There is also what I think is a drow-a drow of all things!-sitting in the shadows.
But this rabble is of little interest to me. My target is Captain Renallo, and he is sitting at a table with a bunch of his Hands. I count 8 Hands in total, plus Captain Renallo. There is also another person with them. Someone more...odd.
I quickly spin around to take a closer look at this character, then spin back. The final person sitting with Renallo's entourage is a catfolk warrior of some sort, a rather tall, muscular catfolk male with a headband covered in feathers. Most of his clothing has a tribal look to it, but his leather armor is decorated with the insignia of the Holy Knights.
How odd. A catfolk savage from the Barbarian Lands is...a knight? Something is up there. I will have to look into it later.
My drink eventually arrives, and as I listen to the conversation going on behind me, I decide I've earned a sip of ale. Been a long time since my last drink.
"You are a fascinating individual."
I roll my eyes. I look around to see if any of my new "comrades" are around, but when I don't see them, I become puzzled.
"Do not fear. I am not sharing these words with my brothers. We are alone."
"Oh, really? Wonderful. We are alone. What a happy day for me," I mutter under my breath. I may be crazy, but I don't want to prove it in this tavern.
"My brothers do not understand you. They only care for strength and power. They do not see what I see in you."
"Oh, yeah? What do you see, and why should I care?"
"You are a survivor. A cockroach among the fallen. The warriors will fight, the wizards will cast their spells, and the kings will rule, but when the sun goes down, you will be the one who remains."
"Oh, great. I'm a bug. I've got common sense, if that's what you're saying. Why the hell should that be enough to torment me?"
"There are many weapons in this world, but it is those that shine brightest that draw the most blood. You are not a weapon, and that is why I have chosen you."
I shake my head and drink deeply from my mug. It's not enough that they speak, but now they have to speak in riddles. "You are going to drive me insane, Soh."
"Only if you are weak."

* * * * *
As Tim marches back to the road, Wynd decides to lower her blade and charge the swordsman from behind.
But then the most unfortunate, poorly timed thing happens...Wynd hits a rock. She stumbles, and when she reaches Tim, the swordsman spins around and knocks her wobbly legs out from under her. Her sword goes flying, and she ends up face first in the dirt.
*He, he. What a time to roll a natural 1.
As Wynd begins to lift herself off the ground, she finds Tim's rapier in her face. He has her crystal sword in his hands.
"How sad. I thought you were different, but you are clearly nothing more than a savage," Tim begins to eye Wynd's sword. "What a beautiful sword. The craftmanship is very intriguing. Such a wonderful thing to be found in the hands of a beast. I think it deserves to be in more capable hands."
Tim stuffs the sword in his belt before turning his back on Wynd and departing for a second time, but not before issuing a warning.
"Do not attempt to attack me again. I will not spare you next time."

Wynd lifts herself up and begins to scream and buck wildly.
"GIVE ME MY SWORD BACK!" She screams at Tim. "Don't make me get my friends."

Where exactly have I met this Dwarf? Anywhere nearby where we can spend some alone time? Does he have a sample of either drug on him?

On the main street. He is suspicious when Blaine suggests moving and refuses. He has a sample of both drugs on him.
**I was gonna update with Dagg's findings so to give you guys ideas of what to do next, but I got some unexpected company. Sorry guys, but I should have something early tomorrow.

Blaine sighs and ponies up the 20g, asks and Dwarf his name and how to find him once he gets some more cash. He walks away mumbling that at least he'll enjoy himself a little more, and makes a mental note to find this Dwarf again later.

Blaine pulls out his coins and finds he doesn't have 20g. He's not even close. The dwarf laughs at him and begins to walk away. When Blaine calls for the dwarf's name and where he can meet him later, the dwarf just laughs even harder.
That's when Wynd appears. She tells Blaine and eventually Marvin about Tim.
But before they can decide how to deal with the swordsman, Dagg appears.

[glow=blue,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] ***************
I was expecting to have a little trouble looking for these guys, but lo, here they are. All nicely gathered in this spot near the north edge of town. How convenient.
Someone is missing. I look around for the halfling, but I don't see him.
"Where is Kade?" I ask. They look around, then shrug.
"I guess he slipped away. Oh, well. Anyway, I've learned some juicy bits of information. First, and foremost, yes, Renallo has a wife and 2 daughters, and a couple sons, but they live in Jumelwyn City. I don't know about you, but trying to enter the city right now sounds like a bad idea. We can try, but we will have to figure out a safer way to get inside. Or we can just hide out in Lazos until this stink blows over, then go after her. But there is an alternative. Renallo periodically travels to the dungeon, of course, and southwest to meet with some tribal ambassadors. You see, he's got this catfolk barbarian with him. Goes by the name of Xarken. This guy is supposed to be some kind of great hero among the catfolk, and the only barbarian to become a knight. Serves as Renallo's right-hand man. These catfolk don't enjoy fraternizing with Jumelwyn, but as long as this Xarken is around, they're willing to put up with it. We might be able to ambush Renallo during one of these little forays of his, but we will have to watch out for this Xarken character. Barbarians are rarely hailed as heroes, but when they are...well, they're pretty nasty."
*New scenarios added.
The centaur, this Wynd, now tells me about this "Tim" guy.
"A Turherronian swordsman challenged you to a duel? And he took your sword? Oh, come on, didn't the part about him 'never meeting a centaur that didn't try to kill him first' tip you off?" I laugh. "The guy is clearly blademaster. We'd be nuts to go after him. But hey, if you want to commit suicide, we can try. You will need to get another weapon first."
============================================== SCENARIO CHOICES:
*As always, you do not have to choose one of the following scenarios. You may create your own. These are merely ideas to get you started:
-Get revenge on Captain Renallo for imprisoning you. >Deal with Xarken, the catfolk barbarian hero. He may interfere with any attack launched on Renallo. >Find Renallo's wife and daughters to exact your revenge. May need to find an alternative entrance into Jumelwyn. -Get Wynd's sword back from Tim the swordsman. -Flee to Lazos, City of Shadows. -Discover the ancient secrets of the Soh'Mar.

"Can we at least get my sword back first? I want it. Sneak up to the guy and steal it or something if you don't want to try and kill him." Wynd suggests.
Then she looks at Blaine. "I could kill you by sitting on you. Don't piss me off."

[glow=blue,6,300]UPDATE[/glow] *************** I guess they're dead set on revenge. That is fair I suppose. I don't know what the captain did to them. He was pretty lenient to me. "All right, we'll take out that blasted barbarian. If we can. I've heard some stories about him. I think he's pretty strong. Anyway, the captain will head out towards Jumelwyn tomorrow and will be back in two days. He will be traveling by himself and a few guards. The barbarian will be waiting here. When they get back, the two of them will journey southwest to meet the catfolk ambassadors. I guess we can wait, or figure out something to do. In the meantime, we should stock up on food and supplies, maybe even get a job around town. We're going to need more coin if we are to make the Soh happy." *New proposition added. PROPOSITIONS: ============================================== *Unlike scenarios, propositions are always geared towards your level of difficulty. They are usually short and simple tasks and may require you to report to somebody. Of course, you don't have to complete the task as outlined by your employer. --A merchant traveling to Jumelwyn had his guards quit on him. He needs someone to escort him south. --A woman is looking for a poison maker for some unexplained task. --During a recent skirmish in the Razed Lands to the north, a few guards discovered an ancient tomb. They are looking for dungeoneers to help them.

"Money, eh? How about we take that merchant escort job, then just rob the merchant?" I suggest. Seems reasonable enough with this group. I'm not normally one to commit such crimes so callously, but then, I've never had the voices of ancient warriors promising great power in my head, a group of seemingly friendly comrades with the same problem, and very little coin in my purse.
**Quest list is getting too long, so I'm going to move it to the first page of this thread. Also renaming "scenarios" to "quests", because scenario is too broad a term. Also added terrain to Campaign Specifics section.
*New quest added
-Take the merchant job and then rob the merchant for all that he's worth.
