When the horse attempts to charge, Gandt uses his attack of opportunity to grapple it and hold it in place, or at least grab the reins.
Until then, keep up with 2 attacks per round on the mummy.

Kit will try to get out of the horse's way this round, but continue the arrow assault next round.

Illyria will use Invisibility/Sudden Strike on the mummy attacking her and then try to Tumble away from the mummy if possible.

Lia can't gain control of the animal while her hands are on fire, and doesn't want to scare it more, so she'll continue with her previous actions.

Round 5:
Kit moves out of the bunch, into the hall east of Lia and past the burning mummy corpse, before turning and firing on the still burning mummy. He hits! (-6HP)
Gandt smashes the mummy, but still gets less than spectacular results (-15HP)
The mummies continue their advance. The one pounds harmlessly on Gandt's shield again, while the other one rips Illyria in half. Litterally. Her upper body lands near Lia, splashing blood across Lia's boots, while her lower body just topples over backward, splashing blood across the floor. Avner screams. The mummy burns a little more (-3HP).
James growls angrily and fires his crossbow. He hits nothing. He then follows Kit out into the main hall.
Lirith and Amelia follow James as well. They try to fire shots at the mummy, but they're just too shaken. Urol and Avner try to settle the horse. Somehow, they manage to do that.
Lia attacks the mummy. She manages to carve off a few small pieces (-3HP) while avoiding the flames.
Round 6:
Kit fires a pair of arrows. They both miss.
Gandt tries to smash the mummy into a pulp, but he misses as well.
The mummies advance, but Gandt still manages to hold the one back. Lia takes another big hit, however (-14HP). The mummy burns a little more (-3HP)
James fires another bolt, and again he misses.
Lirith and Amelia fire their bows, but don't manage to do much (-1HP). Avner and Urol keep the horse under control.
Lia attacks again, but slips on the blood. She falls prone.
Init and Status: Kit: 20, -9 arrows Gandt: 20 Mummyx2: 16 (-38HP, -50HP (burning)) James: 6, -5 bolts, Spu: Acid Splash NPCs: 5 (avner: -4HP) Lia: 4, -30HP, (produce flame: 2 minutes, 36 seconds), prone
Illyria: deader than dead, ya know.
(Bebop: I have some additional new character hooks for you, if you want to play a new character, but they're at home. I'll have to look them up, then send you a message with the details.)

Kit will continue to try and drop the burning mummy with arrows.

Lia will roll away from the mummy, calling Tamaska to jump in front and protect her from attack. After she gets away, stand and heal the member with the lowest HP (Lia currently).

(We can raise her, can't we?) Kit will continue to try and drop the burning mummy with arrows. (No one in the party knows raise spells currently, and its still a several day journey to farshore, so its unlikely the party will make it in time.)

(So we're more than 9 days away from Farshore? Wouldn't matter if Bebop wants to do another character, but I didn't think we were so far)

(According to Urol, you're 7-8 days away. It's within the realm of possibility, but considering how slowly PBP games play out.... It's not really a matter so much of time in game terms, but really how long does bebop want to sit on the side lines. He could always create a new "temporary" character to use until they could get Illyria raised, if in fact they do make it.)

Gritting his teeth, Gandt tries to take his mummy out as quickly as possible. Same actions as before.
(I'm not sure if the BAB on my sheet is correct. A level 6 fighter should have +6/+1. Am I getting that second attack here?)

(We have a lot of high roll followed by low rolls on attacks. But yeah, Gandt's attack stats are way off.....)
Round 7:
Kit fires an arrow, and down the mummy goes. (+1 kill)
Gandt slams his shield into the mummy, scattering bones and undead flesh across the hallway (+1 kill)
Exp:
Lia: 700 James: 920 Kit and Gandt: 1010
Gandt: Level Up!
James immediately turns to Lia. " Is there anything you can do for Illyria?" he asks.

Lia gets up and turns to James. "No... I'm not even sure a druid can ever resurrect the dead..." Her voice trails off, as she's upset with herself for letting someone fall. After a moment, she continues. "We could carry her remains with us, but it could be more dangerous for all of us. It's your decision, of course."

(Druids can, btw. Sort of)
"Great. Now I have do the scouting," Kit moans as he gathers his arrows. He won't touch any arrows stuck in the mummies. "We better stop and make sure none of us caught that weird disease."
Kit suddenly laughs, but he doesn't tell anyone it's because Illyria was brought to death's door by mummies on two occasions.

"I hate to leave anyone behind," James sighs. "But we've got to cross a lot of the island still. I don't think we have much of a choice."
"I agree," Urol says suddenly. "There are numerous predatory creatures between us and even the nearest of the Olman villages. The corpse would only draw them to us."
Amelia looks at Urol, then at James, "I suggest we strip the body, as gruesome as it may be, then give her a brief burial, perhaps once we get out of here, or dump the body off of those bridges we passed."
(Kit managed to recover only two arrows, the rest were broken or stuck in burning Mummy corpses.)
As the party stands around discussing what to do with Illyria's corpse, Lia sets about healing herself. She casts a spell, only to have the spell energy dissipate without actually doing anything. Suddenly she feels as if she's drying up (-4Con, -3cha) (mummy rot).
(Lia is now essentially at 5HP)

Kit sighs. "Great. Not this again."
Kit will claim Illyria's Ring of Jumping and the CMW potion since he doesn't have any at the moment. He will leave the Periapt of Wisdom and Bracers of Armor for somebody else.

Kit pulls off the ring and takes the potion from Illyria's corpse, while James scouts ahead. He returns shortly. "There's another one of those heavy doors," he says to Gandt when he returns. With that, Gandt, Kit and James move ahead to open the door, while Lia attempts to heal herself with her wand. Several of her worst wounds close up a little (+9HP). She decides to spend another charge of the wand. This time the spell energy seems to disipate against her skin without doing anything. She tries again, and again the spell fails. Lirith and Amelia are busily stripping anything of use from Illyria's corpse, when Lia notices Urol standing near her, intently watching her. "Looks like you've contracted some sort of disease," he says smugly. He seems to be waiting for some sort of reply. Meanwhile, James, Gandt, and Kit force the doors open, revealing a 30x20 foot room. To the south stand two gigantic iron water doors, decorated with scenes of water and sealife in tarnished silver. Opposite the door stands two pedestals, one of dusky red granite and one of light blue marble. Directly across from where the trio entered, a set of doors identical to the ones they just opened lead west. (updated map)

"We're going to bury her. End of story."
In the next room, he stands alert while he waits for the others to catch up.
I'm not sure how good his sense of direction is, but if he realizes that the west door has the black pudding, he'll remind the others not to open it.

Lia looks downward... she has no energy to fight with Urol after seeing Illyria die in front of her eyes.
"Yes, I have mummy rot. We've dealt with it before, but it was more luck than anything that we kept her alive... and..." She trails off, looking where Illyria stood. After a few moments, she straightens up, and looks at Urol, a sad expression on her face. "And I will soon follow her to the beyond, I fear.' She reaches down a hand and pets her companion softly, fighting back the urge to burst into tears.

Urol grins, an almost sadistic grin. "Ah, that's too bad," he smirks.
He waits a few moments, then continues, "I might be able to help, if you meet certain conditions."
He glances around to make sure no one else has heard what he's said.

"I'm listening..."

Oh, come on!" Kit calls out from his spot by the door. "You're not dead yet. An obstacle is just a challenge waiting to be overcome, caution is the better part of valour, and your strength is greatest when needed most. That's my motto. That's how I managed to survive all these years. Give up before your fate is sealed, and you're basically allowing yourself to die. So stop crying and grow a pair, okay? You're dead when you're dead, which is not right now."
Kit isn't in the mood to search for treasure. He'll leave that to someone else.
(oh, wait, does Kit even hear Lia and Urol talking?)

(I rolled a listen check for Kit, and despite being nearly 100 feet away, he heard the conversation clearly! +50XP)
Urol jumps at the sound of Kit's voice, clearly disturbed to have been heard by the tiefling.
He leans in close and whispers so only Lia can hear, "I have some of that potion the islanders gave Illyria. I'll let you have it, for a price. An apology for your behavior will be a nice start."

Lia already knew Urol would want an apology first. She whispers back, "I am sorry for being rude to you, especially in front of others. No harm came from it and I overreacted. I was out of line." She doesn't share that James pretty much told her so. (blame the alignment )

(no he doesn't)
Urol seems genuinely surprised that Lia consented so easily. "See, that wasn't so hard," he says with a slightly condescending tone. He rummages in his pack and pulls out a small flask of a pale greenish liquid. "Ah, here we go."
He hands the flask over with a wink.

James begins investigating the pedestals.
"Kit, do you still have that rod?" he asks.

Lia takes the vial. (anything from Sense Motive during the conversation, or with his wink?) She whispers "Thank you... do I drink it all at once, or is there a method?" She will try a heal check if she can. Has she ever seen the liquid before?
