NOW saw Avengers.
Ended up being a bridge plot movie, so not the most satisfying. Lots of action. Fairly depressing outcome. Kind of like Revenge of the Sith.

Continuity announcer spoiled tonight's Agents of Shield episode, by mentioning evil Fritz was back. Completely ruined the reveal for me. Not sure about the twist of that episode.

Eh. He's not really back.
Thought you were finished with Shield?

I never stopped watching it. I don't know where you got that from. The him not really being there was the twist I was talking about. Undecided whether it was a good one, or just something to inject drama.

Sounded like you really hated the show.
I think it's some kind of guilt manifestation for what he does during the episode.

I hated it's inconsistency. It's next season may be it's last on a network. Disney is making a streaming service, and once it's up, the smart money is on them moving all their shows onto it.

Not sure about that. They've been saying that sort of thing for years and yet most shows are still on regular TV. The new Star Trek was supposed to be a streaming exclusive show and yet I watched it just fine on Showcase. Granted, that's an advanced sub channel and Disney does have its own TV network.

With the buy out of Fox going through, we should see a proper handling of the X-Men franchise. It would actually be a good idea to let the Avengers rest and start a whole X-Men persistent universe thing, although I say it would work better as a TV series.

Honestly I think it's been mostly average material elevated by decent to good actors. That couldn't save some of them though. I'm looking at you Last Stand and Wolverine Origins.

Got the new Spider Man game. Haven't played it yet. Enjoyed Prototype and Infamous. Hoping it will be just as fun, although I don't like the sound of Mary Jane's stealth sections.

I just don't like forced stealth sections in games where stealth isn't the primary focus.

So got around to the Spider-Man game. Because Spider-Man is more about finesse and gadgets it leans more towards the Arkham series rather than Infamous, so skill is more meaningful. It's a little harder than those games, and there have been a few occasions where certain options suddenly became unavailable for inexplicable reasons, and the RPG mechanics are far stronger than they should be in this kind of game...
...but in some ways that's a good thing. Earning your victories feels better than just "press button to win...Spider Man style!", and there are quite a few gadgets and suit mods to collect to customize your play style. I guess I'm just a little annoyed at how quickly a few levels and suit mods made the game much easier. Makes me feel like I just sucked at that first section.

Okay, so Spider-Man got a lot easier as you level up, so it's definitely not harder than games like Prototype and Infamous. I'm also not digging the pacing. Game starts out with a bang against major villains like Fisk and Shocker and then...a whole lot of investigative stuff and brawls against common mooks mixed with drama and MJ/Miles stealth sections. I don't mind the story stuff because it's really well done and the stealth sections are actually really easy (one section where you have MJ call out stealth take downs for Spider-Man was actually pretty cool because you get to see all the stuff Spidey does from another perspective), but it took me two entire 3 hour gaming sessions to get through this stuff before the next supervillain battle. It's pretty obvious the game's exciting start was meant to tide you over while the writers tried to be all emotional and deep. It's a cheap trick and it sucks.
The game has amazing production values though. Going from fisticuffs atop a truck to jumping from car to car to buildings and then climbing beneath the truck in a single uncut, no loading necessary sequence was very impressive (and really frickin' cool). I'd say they're probably the best production values this gen, right up there with Uncharted 4.

Holy hell the pacing in Spider-Man is jacked up. The final chapter features battles against six supervillains, two of which are against two villains at once. I wanted to fight supervillains but not all at once!
Oh, well. At least it looked cool. The game is well worth playing, even if some aspects of it make me scratch my head.

Looks like Disney is refusing to speak with Deadpool director Lietch. He claims to have repeatedly contacted them so he can get an idea of what his happening with the Deadpool property, but he isn't getting any kind of response.

It's probably related to the X-Men because they're trying to figure out how to introduce them to the MCU.

Maybe so, but Disney has already stated on record Deadpool will not be released under the Disney banner, so it won't be part of the MCU.
I already have an idea of how the X-Men will show up. Likely in Captain Marvel 2 when Rogue steal's her powers. I'd prefer the X-Men didn't join the MCU, though. Their universe is already pretty darn large.
Speaking of which...I'm all hot and bothered MUA3 is a Switch exclusive and always will be.

I would. It's illegal in Japan for Japanese corporations to be bought out by foreign organizations. Not without government consent anyway.

Just saw the new Spider-Man movie. It's pretty cool but there is a lot of sloppy writing. I thought we had moved beyond the whole "villain explains every aspect of his plot in one big exposition dump" thing.
Oh, and it's pretty much confirmed at this point that Disney plans to add mutants to the MCU. I really, really hope they don't. X-Men is just way too big a universe to share with the Avengers. And how would it line up, anyway? Generations are actually a thing in X-Men. How can mutants just "appear" in the MCU when so many of the later X-Men are actually sons and daughters of older heroes? Are they going to magically age faster or something?

Whilst still a good movie it was honestly predictable. I think the biggest problem with the MCU is there isn't really any stakes.
The smart money is Doctor Strange does something that brings mutants in. Personally I hope they don't. The MCU is large and unwieldy as it is. Good news Brie Larson might not be getting another Captain Marvel movie. Bad news Disney is keen to cast her in Star Wars.

The tv series nobody asked for! WandaVision. Basically the Scarlet Witch and the Vision get their own tv series. I mention it because one of the staff writers is in the running to write Captain Marvel 2. Good news for Brie Larson fans, bad news for normal people!

Marvel comics continue to slowly suicide itself. They have a new line up for their new Warriors comic, which include the black twins Snowflake and Safe place. I wish this was me joking. Everyone hates it.

Yep. I've seen the videos about it on YouTube. I'm just surprised there are heroes actually called Snowflake and Safe Place. Originally I thought these were joke characters parodying the current climate.

The artwork is crappy too. The twins looked more like lovers than siblings. The thing is, Disney is in a bad position financially, and Marvel comics haven't been making serious money in years, and I think the writers just don't give a shit about making money as long as their woke agenda gets pushed. I think at the very least Disney will be forced to take a closer look at Marvel.
