(Yeah, I thought so)
Kit allows for an "eek" sound before adjusting his feet and bracing for balance and defense. When he can, he will Tumble away, then do everything he can do get off the bridge (towards the party).

Presuming Lia heard something, she will leave the main room, drawing her bow, and see what there is too see. If she spots a hostile, fire on it, looking around for cover.

Gandt can't do much aside from yelling at the centipedes, and maybe throwing a couple rocks at them. (Smallish rocks, mind you, not big, bridge-breaking rocks.

Round 1:
James loads his crossbow and fires at the Centipede facing off against Kit. The bolt slams into the centipede, eliciting a screech and green blood.
The centipedes lunge at their chosen targets. Illyria easily dodges, while Kit takes a small nip (-2HP) on his arm.
Lia moves up onto the balcony and draws her bow.
Illyria withdraws to the balcony.
Gandt moves out on the balcony and starts looking for something to throw. He might be able to break something off of one of the statues.
Kit withdraws to the balcony.
Urol holds his ground, while Amelia, Lirith and Skald come up to investigate. Avner stays with the horse, at the bottom of the steps.
Round 2:
James fires another bolt. This one sails wide and off into the chasm.
The centipedes charge! Illyria takes a pretty serious nip (-7HP) while Kit easily deflects the snapping jaws of the second centipede. Illyria suddenly feels a burning in the wound and a sluggish feeling throughout her body (-4 dex from poison).
Lia fires at the already wounded centipede, the arrow burrowing into its flesh (-6HP).
Illyria retreats behind Gandt.
Gandt charges the centipede that bit Illyria, his shield braced for impact in front of him, shifting the shield at the last moment to get the most from the slicing edges. The collision is impressive, the carnage afterwards more so, as Gandt slices deeply into the body of the centipede, sending gore showering across the bridge, balcony and out into the space of the chasm, not to mention Gandt. (+1 kill)
Kit stabs at the centipede to keep it at bay, he manages to drive the rapier into the body, causing the centipede to collaspe dead on the bridge. (+1 kill)
EXP earned:
Kit & Gandt: 120 Lia: 80 Rest: 105
When the bridges clear of any danger, Illyria and Kit move to investigate the doors. Illyria discovers her doors are unlocked, but seem stuck from years of disuse. Kit discovers the same.
(The doors are massive, so three people can attempt to open them, or you can try some other method, if you want. Just let me know which door.)

(Isn't it ironic how the main poison user in the group keeps getting diseased and poisoned?)
Kit will just wait for Gandt to decide which door to open since he seems strong enough to handle it himself.

Lia has no strength worth mentioning and leaves the door opening to the stronger members. Since Lia knows there's a small chance for it, she will inspect Kit and Illyria's wounds for poison. If discovered, she will ask the party if they have anything for it. If not, she will cast Delay Poison if needed. She will try and spot any other monsters while the party deals with a door. She doesn't really care which one is opened. (tricky play of what Lia knows and what I know

Kit's wound is clean, but Lia doesn't have to do much more than just look at Illyria to realize she's been poisoned. (+15XP) She immediately asks if anyone has an antidote for the poison.
James shakes his head, indicating he has nothing.

Illyria curses her lack of luck with poison and then waits for Gandt to do his magic on one of the doors.

Lia casts her spell on Illyria, while Gandt, Kit, and James push on the right door. It screams and groans in protest, but eventually slides open. Stale air and dust roll forth, but nothing leaps out at the three amigos.
(EXP: Gandt: 30, James, Kit: 15)
The room is 30 by 50, but the southeat corner has collasped, revealing a stagnant pool of water. Another large door leads north, out of the room.
"Watch out!" James suddenly yells and reaches to pull Kit and Gandt backward. "There's something in the pool" (+15XP james)
(Gandt and Kit see nothing)

Kit will ask someone for a source of light, like a spell or something, then throw it into the pool and see what happens.

Gandt doesn't have a light.
If no one has any other ideas, he creeps slowly toward the pool to see if he can get a better look. He doesn't get any closer than 20 feet yet, though.

Amelia brings over one of the torches and hands it to Kit. "What is it?" she asks impatiently.
James starts to answer, but Kit tosses the torch. It rolls up close to the pool then stops. Several seconds pass, then a huge, dark blob rears up out of the pool and grabs the torch. The torch dissolves almost instantly, bringing darkness back quickly.
"Close the doors!" James croaks. "Close them now!"
(James and Kit both recognize the blob as a black pudding. (+15XP) James is advocating closing the stone doors back.)

Kit's face scrunches up like he just got a whiff of a terrible smell. "I don't know much about oozes, but they are annoying. Let's just leave it be and see what's beyond the other door."

Lia will assist in closing the door, simply nodding in agreement that they don't want to mess with the pudding if there's a better option. After it's closed, move to the other door, still trying to spot anything else that might surprise them on the way (stay with the party).

Seeing James's reaction, Gandt has no desire to stay put. He backs away from the black pudding and helps shut the door. "So what the hell was that thing??"
Assuming the ooze doesn't follow them, he'll head for door number two to see if that way's any better.

Gandt, James and Kit struggle with the doors, while Lia runs to assist them. The doors barely budge. Sensing a meal close by, the Ooze lurches toward the doors, while The trio continue their struggle. With a mighty tug, Gandt finally gets the doors moving and they slam shut just as the ooze reaches them. Gandt, James and Kit share a sigh of relief. "I read about them once my my father's library, I think," James answers Gandt. "They disolve metal and wood, with their acid. And flesh too." With that, the group decides to open the other door, hoping to find a little less resistance to their progress. The boys once again wrench the door open, then quickly assume a defensive position. The corridor beyond the door is ten feet, wide, and lined with deep niches on both sides. Numerous skeletal remains lay in the niches, each adorned with an iron necklace or iron collar. Elaborate carvings of skeletal humanoids and hounds adorn every available space on the walls. Urol gives a squeal of delight when he spots the remains and carvings. "Well, I guess we found the grave," James says. "The sooner we get this overwith, the better." However, James seems to be waiting for someone else to take the point in exploring the cooridor. ( Updated Map The part is currently standing on the northern bridge, in front of the cooridor.)

(This gives me the impression we have some kind of foreknowledge of this place, but I don't remember the party being given any. Were we? Which post should I be looking for?) * * * * *
Kit looks around the new corridor. "My, how inviting."
Kit suddenly gets a thought. He will head back out to the bridge and see if the ooze might be trying to squish through the cracks of the first door.
As for who should take point, that should be obvious by now, no? ;D

(The only fore knowledge you would have is that this pass somehow leads from one side of the mountains to the other. James is simply commenting on the bodies/burial niches and the fact that he would like to be past the mountains.)

Yes, Gandt will take the point. He's less interested in the ruins than he is in keeping a lookout for danger. (Don't give the DM any ideas! I hate hate hate black puddings...)

Gandt enters the cooridor and takes a left. Its not long before the cooridor branches, continuing straight ahead and forking to the right. (see new map). Which way? Illyria and James come next, with Amelia, Lirith, Avner and his horse, and Urol before Lia. Urol is feverishly taking notes and making sketches. Kit doubles back to check the doors holding back the ooze. Gandt seems to have gotten the doors seal tight again, as there's no sign of the ooze squeezing through the cracks.

Kit will rejoin the group and suggest he and Illyria scout the north path while Gandt and Lia scout the other path. When it is safe, they will call for the rest of the party to join them.
"Hmm...this cape smells funny. Somebody else can have it," Kit removes his new magical cape and offers it to somebody else.
*I've decided I don't want to waste my "magical item brownie points" on a simple +2 CHA bonus. Kit's Diplomacy skills do come in handy, but he still needs far too many other more important bonuses. I'll leave the CHA to his gold.

Lia will take the cape if no one else wants. "If we are to split up, I would like Captain Amelia to accompany me." She does not give a reason, because she does not feel she has to (elven pride ftw )

Gandt does scout out the right path, but only because he wants to, not because Kit told him to. He doesn't urge anyone to follow him, leaving it up to them to decide if they split up.
