Lia casts CMW on Kit, healing 17HP.
Gandt uses three charges to heal his shoulder (+17HP).
Urol informs Gandt that he believes the party to be nine days from Farshore still.
Lia uses 4 charges to heal Skald (+25Hp), and uses another two on Kit (+12HP), while Gandt heals an additional 12HP on Kit with his wand.
Status: Kit: -4HP, Skald: -3HP, Gandt: -2HP, Illyria: -9 HP
Illyria searches the nests. She finds 9 one foot tall eggs, one of which Urol claims for study. In the largest nest, she finds a half-eaten corpse and a soild cloak that shimmers slightly in the sunlight. The cloak is soiled in places with blood, but seems undamaged otherwise.
With the healing done and the nests searched, the party lights a couple torches and Lia unhoods her lamp and they head into the tunnel of Dark Mountain Pass.
Surprisingly, the road leading through the pass is in good shape, with only minor rock falls here and there. James and Illyria take the point, and they lead the party unerringly through the smooth and straight tunnel. Kit and Skald bring up the rear, and numerous times through the journey they feel as if they are being watched.
After an hour of travel, James calls a brief halt for lunch, during which Avner complains about the lack of wine available. Urol eats little, staying to himself and studying the newly acquired egg.
Just as they're getting ready to start out again, the sound of tumbling rocks comes from somewhere behind them. Gandt, Illyria and James scout a short distance, but come back quickly with news that they didn't spot any fallen rocks.
Two hours later, the group passes through a partially collasped tunnel, and comes into a larger chamber. A small stagnant fountain lies directly opposite the entrance, while a stone throne sits on a dais at the far end of the room. A humanoid ribcage is pinned to the throne, held there by an ancient spear, while all around it lie the remainder of the poor soul's bones.

Kit will claim the soiled cloak and see if anyone in the group can determine if it's magical or not. If somebody can check and determines it isn't magical, he'll discard it.
"King under the mountain my ass," Kit chuckles.
Kit will Spot and Listen for anything suspicious in the cavern, then make a specific Spot check on the fountain itself (but he sucks at those checks, so somebody who doesn't suck should do them too).
He will also try to Spot an exit to the chamber.
Kit will suggest only the strongest characters in the group (ie. those with the highest HP) should enter the chamber and investigate. Everyone else should stay near the perimeter of the chamber as they work their way around.

(but he sucks at those checks, so somebody who doesn't suck should do them too). Illyria will do those! She'll let the more sturdy characters into the room first then move in behind them, using Spot, Listen and Search when she can.

James takes a quick look at the cloak before the party departs. His eyes glow purple momentarily. "It's definitely magical," he says, almost to himself. "transmutation effects, hmm. Ah, yes! I think this cloak will help you with diplomacy and such." James has identified the cloak as a Cloak of Charisma +2 Current MapThe party can see the staircase leading up near the throne. Kit can't spot anything in the fountain from his current position. (James has Sorcerer levels, but he won't make a fuss over the cloak.)

Mine. ;D
(Seriously though, does anyone else here need a high CHA score?)

(CHA is good for Handle Animal, but otherwise, no, I don't think Lia needs it.)
Lia will follow the advice of slinking around the perimeter, keeping an eye on the people going in, in case they run into something. She eyes the ribcage, seeing if she can tell what happened to it.

Lia moves into the room, keeping close to the near wall while she approaches the throne. It's quite obvious the only thing holding the ribcage in place is the spear, but Lia will have to move closer to actually find any real details about the rib cage.
From her new position, she can see up the stairs, into the larger chamber beyond. (Map updated)
Since nothing bad appears to have happened to Lia, Illyria starts out into the room as well. She approaches the fountain, and discovers that while it is 8 feet deep, it only appears to be about half-full of stagnant water. A quick search of the water turns up nothing. Illyria spots and hears nothing as well.
Urol moves forward, pulls out a small notebook, and begins making observations of the chamber and fountain.

Lia doesn't like disturbing the dead, so she will ask Urol if he can find anything significant about the spear, throne, or the bones. She won't stop him from touching it, but she will back off a little if he does.

Urol looks at Lia questioning, but with a shrug moves towards the throne. As he passes, he makes a comment about "scared elves". He examines the spear, making many notes in his notebook about the intricate designs and the apparently mint condition of the shaft, before turning to the bones. He touches one of the bones lying on the throne, which makes Lia cringe, but it just crumbles to dust.

Kit will call on James again. Let's see if the spear is magical.
Meanwhile, Kit does his best to clean the cloak before donning it.

James scans the room with his purple eyes. He looks strangely at the fountain, and Illyria.
"I think you missed something in the fountain," he says, before turning his attention to throne and spear. "The spear is definitely magical, although I think its just magically enhanced to do more damage." (+1 longspear)
Meanwhile, Urol has walked around behind the throne. He gives a little squeal and reaches down to pick something up. He turns back around and begins examining a gold necklace of some sort.

Kit rolls his eyes at Urol. Once he gets his hands on something, there's no point trying to explain the non-historical, USEFUL value of the item. Kit instead decides to check the fountain for what Illyria might have missed.
Kit simply doesn't have room for the spear.

Lia leaves the spear be. If someone else wants it, she doesn't mind.
"What did you find? Ooh, what's that?"

Illyria tries searching around and looks inside the fountain again.

Kit and Illyria do a more thorough search of the fountain. They pull a rod, approximately 1 foot long, with a 6" red sphere on the end.
Urol places the necklace in his bag.
"Why should I show it to you?" he asks. "You chose with them to let that dinosaur die at the hands of those foul birds."

Lia stares at Urol. She square's up to him and raises her voice enough for the others to hear, but not a shout.
"We made the decision to leave the dinosaur be as a group. We travel and explore as a group. Unless you wish to continue without our protection, you will share what you find with the THE GROUP! Do I make myself perfectly clear, sir?"

Urol stares at Lia, then takes a step back. "Fine," he says, and pulls the necklace back out. Its made with numerous triangle shaped gold plates, and decorated with various symbols. It looks heavy and expensive. (+20XP, successful intimidate)

Gandt circles the perimeter of the room, seemingly uninterested. He looks up the northeast stairs for danger. If that path seems harmless enough, he returns to the point where the party entered and keeps a lookout there, watching the path where they came from.
He idly wonders to himself how far Urol would fly if he punted him.

Kit rolls his eyes at the discovery of the rod. "James!"
Kit suggests somebody take the spear. It's still worth something.

Gandt doesn't see any danger, so he takes up a position guarding the rear.
James examines the rod, a process that takes several minutes, during which he scratches his head numerous times. He finally hands it back. "I'm not sure what it is," he says with a shrug.
If no one else takes the longspear, Amelia will claim it.

Lia also asks for James' assistance with regards to testing if the necklace is magical. She will then let James decide what to do with it, if it is not.

James reitterates that the only magical thing around the throne was the spear.
"Let him keep the necklace," James says to Lia. "At least a little while, so he can study it. It might have some historical significance."
Urol smiles a little at James, and goes back to studying the necklace.
"There's no need to piss him off," James whispers to Lia.

Lia wasn't sure if James had been able to detect the necklace before. Better to be safe than sorry. She gives him a quick look of "he started it" and a little sad.
She looks at what Kit found to see if she knows anything about it (knowledge check?). Otherwise, I think she's done with this room.

James gives Lia a "what did I do?" look as she walks away.
Lia doesn't have a clue as to what the rod and sphere could possibly be.

"Let's move on," James says, and after checking the stairs carefully ascends the north east stairs and walks out onto the platform, overlooking a large chasm. Two primitive statues flank the balcony, their impassive countenances caked with mildew. The chasm itself drops away into a black gulf of swirling water. Two bridges span the chasm, exiting the room through separate double doors on the far side. New Map"Which way?" he asks Urol. Urol simply shrugs.

"Meh, caves are boring," Kit announces before chucking a few rocks at the walls above the bridges, then a few more into the water. He will try to Spot movement in the shadows.
Kit will ask Urol if he has an idea how old this apparent ruin is, and whether the bridges so any sign of weakness.

The stones echo throughout the chasm, making a temporary ruckus. Kit doesn't spot any movement.
"These ruins are part of the lost Olman civilization," Urol explains to Kit curtly, as if it was obvious. "The bridge is probably quite sturdy."

"Is that so? You deserve a medal," Kit rolls his eyes as he checks to see if the dampness of the tunnel has left any slippery moss on the chasm bridges. "Well, I guess we should scout ahead. Illyria, why don't you check the left door. I'll see what's beyond this one on the right."

Illyria silently nods.
She readies her bow and heads toward the left door.

Illyria and Kit start across their respective bridges. They're a little over halfway across when a sudden scrabbling noise makes them both look up.
They both leap back, as two large monstrous centipedes charge out of the shadows above the doors and land on the bridges with a resounding thud (+20 XP each for avoiding the centipedes).
(Monsterous Spiders are in the middle of each bridge, Kit and Illyria are right next to them, James and Urol are on the balcony, everyone else is in the main room still.)
