Grove will try to shoot the unblinded crab when it comes out of the water. He will also keep moving toward the far shore as quickly as possible.

Round 7:
Kit moves up the path. It's rises steeply for the first 50 feet or so, but then levels out and runs as far as Kit can see along a cliff face, about 25 feet above the water surface. It's wide enough for a team of horses and a wagon and although its littered with cracks and uneven spots, it seems in relatively good condition.
Gandt moves to block the crab, and readies his shield to attack.
Tamaska hauls himself ashore, dripping wet. Lia lands about 10 feet from where Kit stands at the top of the slope and returns to elf form.
Skald, Grove, Lirith, and Amelia ready their bows. James grabs Urol by the arm and drags him toward shore. The result is not as James intends, as he slips and and the two go underwater.
The crab roars up the side of the submerged road, headed straight for the struggling duo, only to be intercepted by Gandt who slams into it with a vengence. Shell fragments litter the water as the archers unleash their arrows as well. (Total Damage: -31HP) The crab snaps a claw at Urol, but misses, the floundering gnome.
Round 8:
Kit continues to survey the trail. He spots no movement and very little of anything else.
Gandt bashes the crab again, sending it over the side of the submerged road backwards. It doesn't move. (+1 kill)
Lia looks for the remaining crab but doesn't spot it.
Skald, Grove, Lirith and Amelia scan the water for the other crab. Lirith spots it about 30 feet from Gandt, in the deep water. James struggles back to his feet, but Urol is still underwater.
The remaining crab, now free of the blindness moves up behind Gandt on the submerged road. (15 feet from the Half-Merrow)
(Actions?
Everyone is ashore but Gandt, James and Urol.)

Kit cheers Gandt on.
If the crab begins to threaten James, Kit will use his bow again.

Gandt keeps moving but won't step onto the shore until everyone else has. He turns to fight the crab if it comes within range.

Round 9:
Kit cheers.
Gandt moves towards the shore, stopping only to help James get Urol's head above water.
Lia fires an arrow at the crab. It pierces the shell with ease (-6HP).
Lirith, Amelia, Skald and Grove each fire a shot at the crab as well. Two arrows hit, but the results are less than spectacular (-6HP total).
James and Urol make for shore, but unfortunately Urol flounders again.
The crab comes in and tries to pinch Gandt. The half-merrow makes an easy target (-6HP), and the crab manages to maintain its hold as well (grappled) and squeezes tight (-11HP).
Round 10:
Kit continues cheering.
Gandt rips himself free of the crab and then smashes into it with his shield. The crab is rocked hard (-18HP), but still seems to be up and going.
Lia fires an arrow, piercing the crab's shell again. It stops moving. (+1 kill)
************************* EXP Earned: Kit 240; Lia & Gandt: 265, Grove and James: 280
James and Gandt haul Urol ashore. After resting for a moment, James approaches Lia and whispers, "What was that thing you turned into?"
(Any other actions before we head down the road?)

Gandt grumbles only a little about Lia stealing his kill. He'll hold out on healing himself for now.
(I'm going away to Seattle for about a week starting tomorrow. My internet connection's going to be iffy, but I'll see if I can check in once or twice.)

(does Lia hear/understand what Gandt says?)
Lia smiles at James, almost innocently. "It's a Sailsnake. I recently learned about them while spending time with other mages back in Sasserine.
"What did you think? A bit unwieldy in the air, but a compromise for not being a small woodland creature." Lia looks genuinely interested in how James handles her shape-shifting abilities.

Grove marvels at the group's battle prowess.
"Clearly I made a wise choice in travelling companions. If only we had more individuals like yourselves to tame the island."
Grove offers healing to anyone who requires it.

"Well, it came in handy," James replies to Lia. He looks a bit nervous though, and leans in closer. "You are in full control when you turn into one of those things, right? You're not going to suddenly attack us, right?"
The road is very hard packed dirt, but Gandt could probably dig into to bury Illyria. There are also plenty of loose and crumbling rocks from the cliff face up here if Gandt would rather simply pile stones over the body.
(Bury Illyria now or wait?)

Lia ponders the question for a moment, not sure if she should try and make a joke or not. She decides that James wouldn't take it as well as he could, so she replies simply, "I am in sound mind when I change form, it's only a physical change. There is nothing to worry about."

*Actually, before Kit says the following, do a Knowledge check to see if he's even aware of Raise Dead spells and the like:
Kit is shocked when he spots Gandt looking at loose stones and such. "Hey, why are you guys so hell-bent on burying Illyria? Aren't you going to at least TRY and save her? There has to be someone around here who can heal her."

(Kit is aware that such powerful magic exists, but he doesn't really know any specifics. For the record, Grove and Lia both know there are time limits regarding such spells (They have to be cast within so many seconds or days of the victims death, depending on the spell). Grove knows that he left his village a week ago, and its the closest village to their current location, that he is aware of.)
James looks considerably more relieved after Lia's words.

Lia looks at what's left of Illyria. "It will put us at a great risk for a small chance of a revival. I know we are all disheartened by the loss, but if we all fall trying to save one, nothing is gained." Lia turns to Grove. "Do you think we could make it to your village in time?"

"Because that worked so well for Illyria."

"Listen, I know we're all a little on edge, but there's not need for this, or we'll never make it to Farshore," James says pointedly.
Solemnly the group digs a shallow grave to the side of the road, and after placing Illyria's remains within, cover it up with dirt and stones.
James says a short memorial, which sounds forced and incomplete, before he and Kit begin scouting the road ahead. Amelia lingers at the grave site a little longer than everyone else, before taking up the rear guard with Skald.
The road never climbs to the top of the cliffs, and in some places it actually decends down to a rocky beach. The party travels on for another four hours, before the descending sun reaches the top of the cliffs.
"We'd better set up camp," James advises; stating the obvious.
(Who's taking which watch?)

"Hey Grove, you got down here. How much further until we can get off the beach?"
Is the party on the beach, or above it? We don't have to worry about the tide, do we?

(The party on a ledge about 50 feet above the surface of the water. There is not any direct access to the water from your current location. And no, you don't have to worry about the tide.
Bebop: Grove and his companions were on this road for 4 days before he reached the tunnel entrance. Day 3 was the day you were attacked by the gargoyles.)

Grove grimaces a bit a Kit's glib response, but he shrugs it off
"It should only be a three or four day journey at this point. That is, presuming we don't run into any difficulties."
He offers to take the second watch.

Lia and Skald take the first watch. Things are quiet, just the gentle lapping of the ocean against the cliff base for the first hour.
Suddenly, Lia spots something out of the corner of her eye, she stares intently at the spot, waiting for whatever it was to move again for several minutes when suddenly everything goes dark.
Skald yells, as the rest of the party awakes to find the campsite encloaked in magical darkness.
"What's going on?" James yells as he draws his daggers. His yell is nearly drowned out by the sounds of Avner's horse panicing.

Kit knows this spell very well. It is, after all, the ace up his sleeve.
"Magical darkness! A wizard....er, or something like that is attacking us," Kit yells before doing what he can to exit the field of effect.
He will be sure not to walk off the ledge of course. He will try to exit the darkness by way of the path the party has already trod. He doesn't want to continue forward. Once out of the area, he'll Hide.
If none of that works, he will try climbing up the cliff face, if possible.

Gandt jumps to his feet at the commotion. When he hears Kit's assessment of what's going on, he raises his tower shield and backs up against the cliff face. "C'mon! You wanna pick a fight, I'm right here!" he shouts at the unknown threat.
Also, did Grove heal Gandt?
